Any ideas on speeding up metabolism

Please help I'm so down with my weight I have literally tried everything. Was diagnosed with coeliac disease and under active thyroid last year and cannot lose weight. I'm constantly tired and yawn all day long I'm quite depressed too. I do at least 3 gym classes a week and do daily excercise too. Levothyroxine made me gain more weight so took myself off it. I have a healthy diet and know what used to help me lose weight no longer works. I tried raspberry ketones years ago along with dieting and they were great have tried them again a few times but no joy. Any advise welcome

I  can relate to what your say re exercise and still gaining weight. I kept putting on weight until my tsh was under 1, which was a long push to get my meds up to the right level. I suggest you go on to healthunlocked...thyroid uk website. There is a huge amount of info and support there. Get your latest blood results and post them up. The level of knowledge is staggering. Good luck xx

Hi, yes, I take levo 25 and 50mcg alternating days, along with liothyroxine (t3) 30mcg daily.

Go gluten free for the celiac and get back to your doctor about thyroid medication. You mention that your weight gain continues so it probably wasn't caused by the Levothyroxine.

Thank u for your response I am gluten free. Levothyroxine def made me gain weight I even tried it a second time to test my theory. Also if u Google weight gain on levothyroxine it seems to be a very common thing. Unfortunately there is no other option in the U.K.

    Hi Lucy,

Last time I myself felt like that. But now under control.

Why not give it a try to take Metabolic Advantage with fat burning & Super Selenium 200mcg .Take each one of one tablet . Are you taking Levothyroxibe in the morning?

Then you should take Metabolic & Selenium after lunch . Only one time a day will do . Should not take after 3pm as you not sleep at night .

    Hope well soon

Hi lucy sorry to hear this.my husband has hypothyroidism.the tablets made him put a lot of weight and kicked insulin high as well.he was in metamorfin tablets to help regulate the insulin levels and on 3 month check insulin was normal.but along side he decided for alternative suplements.it is not cheap option but very effective and he is 12 weeks post taking this suplements and 16kg less.you need to make sure you are not alergic to any of the ingridience before taking any.we buy them from amazon -green niurish powder and thermobol MAXI nutrition tablets.from holland and barrats omega 3 1000mg with active EPA/DHA (in red package) and L-carnitine.he takes them all in the morning with the powder mixed in pint of water.takes a week to all kick in but increased bladder starts almost immediatly.at lunch time he takes one korean ginseng.he has no sugar at all uses sweetner occassionaly for taste.food -he eats normal healthy diet salads veg sweet potatoes meat fish.as long as you take them every day.if you think you need to increase the doses to 2 a day meaning morning and tea time should be ok but not later then tea time as it kept my husband a wake through the night as kicks energy.hope will help you as well and would love to hear good news soon. Take care
