Any ideas what this rash might be?

Ive actually had this rash for a couple of years now. It comes and goes every few days and is always in the middle of my chest. It can be very itchy, especially in the heat. I met with a dermatologist awhile ago and I was told it was contact dermatitis. I was given a cream which helped a little, but the rash continues to come and go every few days. image

Do you wear any sort of jewellery , like a charm on a cord or necklace, that could be touching your skin at this point?

What was the active ingredient in the cream you were given?

Do you wear shirts/Tshirts that are artificial fibre? ie not 100% cotton?

I do wear a chain and I initially thought it might be the cause. But the rash comes back even when I dont wear it. However, the chain does seem the most likely cause since it sits right on that spot. Most of my t-shirts are 100% cotton.

The cream was "clotrimazole and betamethasone dipropionate cream.

You could be getting a reaction to your washing detergent, fabric softener or shower gel maybe. Instead of soap or shower gel, get some dermol 500 lotion and wash with it instead. Try and get eco friendly washing stuff for your clothes because they don't have all the toxic additives that can be allergens. Or if you can't find anything like that, get detergent for delicates. Surcare is good. Avoid things with preservatives ending in zolinone, even Fairy which is supposed to be kind to your skin has these preservatives in and I get dermatitis from that. If you can remove the allergen, whatever it is, your dermatitis should clear up.
