    Hi D,

I had pain in the lower right side for eight years. I had had my womb removed round 12 years ago and as the ovaries had nothing to hang onto they folded in upon themselves. Maggie x

I did but not now. It was a combination of coeliac, hiatus hernia, h pylori. I am now on a gluten and sugar free diet and getting better by the day. I have to stay on the no sugar otherwise my reflux smells of faeces and it helps a lot with swelling. 😊

When my IBS started, my period pain was much worse and harder to control.  Hormones can make IBS worse.  However, this has got a lot better and I can tell the difference between period and IBS pain.

I was told my results during my ultrasound but everything was inconlusive.  Some organs could be seen but others couldn't. I was told there was nothing

remarkable and that the problem was I was so healthy.  My GP told me that they couldn't see any organs at all! So I had to ring the hospital to find out why there was a discrepancy.  This made me panic more.

That is very odd. Makes me feel that the people doing the scan made a big error and won't admit it.?

Very strange indeed sounds like their has been a misunderstanding somewhere between hospital and GP...hope all gos well for you and keep us updated

I had the ultrasound done privately because I was too anxious to wait on the NHS.  In the event my NHS appointment came in the day after I had the private one done!

One of the doctors at my surgery wanted to do the ultrasound again but my eighth doctor told me that it wasn't necessary because my symptoms were unchanged in three months, and I hadn't developed any new ones.  So I was diagnosed with IBS. I trusted the final doctor I saw because I felt confident he knew what he was talking about.  I got the impression that the other seven hadn't the first idea what was wrong.

After after three and a half months last year, I was finally diagnosed with IBS.  The whole thing started in mid March and I was in panic and despair every day until the middle of May.  At one point I was so anxious, I spoke to one of the priests in my parish about it and I got the Sacrament of the Sick.
