lemon balm and holy basil are good plus a homeopathic remedy called 'calming' not sure the brand but comes in a green and white bottle . failing that xanax and valium. its not worth suffering as it can become chronic part of your life.

hi there, I feel for you, it's awful hey. I went through it for about two years. I was also having full blown panic attacks. They would wake me in the middle of the night and even sent me to the emergency room a couple of times. I tried all the natural remedies I could think of. Pharmaceuticals made me worse, and gave me other symptoms. I have been almost entirely anxiety free for about two months now. The only thing I can put it down to is the natural progesterone cream (wild yam and chaste tree berry) I started about four months ago. I think it helped with my sleep too. But I also do live very clean. No caffeine or alcohol, only natural sugars, plant based diet. I do yoga, meditation, mindfulness, breathing exercises. Journaling can really help, and reading recovery stories. I also saw a psychologist whose teachings were based around mindfulness techniques. Herbal teas are lovely and magnesium baths can help relax too. Magnesium supplements. Probably get some tests done to make sure you aren't deficient in anything like vit d etc. Rescue remedy did take the edge off for me but was not much help in a panic attack. Essential oils are also lovely, I use them all the time for everything. There are some great blends available (google). Keep stress to the ultimate minimum so much so as to avoid over stimulating reading and television. Be gentle with yourself and ask your family to be aswell. But do keep functioning. I was so concerned at was was causing it that I stopped doing so many things. This was enabling the fear ( if you know what I mean ), and actually made it worse. Do more of the things that brings you joy. Try cut as much of the negative as possible out of your life (people included). Ultimately remember the feeling will pass, it won't hurt you, it is just anxiety. Don't give it power. I hope I have been of some help. Much love to you.

Hi there, I also suffer with terrible anxiety, PTSD, panic attacks, palpations and breathlessness,And insomnia .

I started to take valerian root, loose organic tea, along with passion flower and red clover. I find this a really good combo. Valerian root helps calm you down, relax you so helps with sleep and nerves. Passion flower is really good for stabilising anxiety, panic attacks and mood. And red clover helps to regulate hormones. Along with other things. But iv found it helps and won't live with out it now. It definitely helps me relax before bed. So it's worth a try. Just check first that it doesn't have a adverse effect on any medications you might be taking. It's pretty safe, been used for centuries, but sometimes if on conventional medication it can interfere. I'm on dihydrocodeine, ibuprofen and it's fine. But always check.

    Good luck x

I couldn't do Valerian root. I didn't even take even close to the full dose and it made me have a hungover feeling like when I've taken a tranquilizer and it made me feel like I was going under anesthesia. They used to give it to soldiers suffering from post traumatic symptoms after WWl

Have you had a blood test to test your hormone and thyroid levels?

    Natural things to calm:

    Mango, bananas

Warm milk believe I was keen on warm milk but I'm used to it now. There is also a product called Warm Milk. It's a chewable milk protein tablet for kids you can find in the health food store. I just increase the dosage to adult dosage. Yogurt.

    Vitamin C

    Cottage cheese

Topical creams like milk cream lotions, coconut or mint lotions. I don't do lavender because it makes me cranky.

    Epsom salts baths

    Some essential oil lotions

I think potatoes are calming maybe because they have magnesium

Greens as much as you can eat

Some people have success with Vitamin B supplements.

    Massages.

Post Note: they might not make you totally anxiety free but it will take the edge off.
