Has anyone else experienced this ? It isn't constant but it's every few days I'd say I get like a pins and needles / electric feeling in my lower left mainly also the lower right from time to time , it's worrying as I never got this before my problems started and I've read it can indicate nerve damage in the stomach from it being infected / inflamed for so long ??

If you actually knew just how many people were dealing with irritable bowels syndrome at any given time, you would probably be shocked. As a matter of fact, it is considered that up to 50% of all individuals are going to be suffering from some kind of IBS symptoms at some point in their life but many of them will never seek medical attention. The simple fact of the matter is, there is not a single problem that is identified as being irritable bowel syndrome and as a matter of fact, it could be any number of different problems that you may be dealing with.
If you have had irritable bowel syndrome for quite some time, you probably already recognize the fact that the foods that you eat are going to affect your symptoms in some way or another. More often than not, you will recognize whenever foods are a problem, as your symptoms to become worse but you might be surprised to learn that you may also be eating foods which are causing your irritable bowel syndrome symptoms to go away to a certain extent. Just because you don't recognize that that is the fact, does not necessarily mean that it is not true.
Believe it or not, it also has a lot to do with when you eat as well as what you eat in order to affect your irritable bowel syndrome to your benefit. For example, most of us tend to eat meals whenever we have the opportunity and it is very rare that we actually sit down to eat a meal at the same time each day. If you are dealing with symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, however, it is important for you to make sure that you are eating regularly, whenever that happens to be for you.
It is also important for you to split up your meals into smaller batches if you are having a difficult time with diarrhea. Many times, just eating smaller meals throughout the day may be enough to help you to overcome a problem with diarrhea. The opposite, however, is also true and if you are suffering from constipation as a result of your irritable bowel syndrome then you might want to eat three larger meals every day and include plenty of natural fiber in those meals. This is often enough to cure the constipation and to get things moving along properly again.
Balancing Your Enzymes for IBS Relief
The body is truly an amazing machine and whenever it is working properly, we rarely ever have to worry about any problems that may be occurring on the outside because of issues on the inside. The unfortunate thing is, we live in a world that does not necessarily promote a healthy lifestyle or give us what we need in order to be as balanced as possible. We tend to be bombarded by things that are bad for us, both in the environment around us and also in the foods that we eat and the water that we drink. For quite a few individuals, this results in irregularity and other irritable bowel syndrome symptoms.
Believe it or not, it is not all that difficult for you to cure your irritable bowel syndrome and to remove many of the symptoms that you may be experiencing. It really has to do with the balance that is on the inside of your body, however delicate that balance may be. The unfortunate thing is, medical science is really unable to determine why it is that you have IBS in the first place. As a matter of fact, they simply tend to lump all of the different symptoms into the same category, even though they are obviously different problems. For example, they would call problems with diarrhea irritable bowel syndrome while also calling constipation the same thing.
If you really want to get rid of your irritable bowel syndrome symptoms, you need to make sure that the natural balance within your body is as perfect as possible. First of all, I need to let you know that it is going to be impossible for you to balance this perfectly. Because of various farming techniques and the imperfection of man, it is impossible for you to get these enzymes as they were actually meant to exist in the body. Even so, you can typically give your body what it needs if you feed it properly.
This can be a little bit difficult for a person with IBS, especially considering that many of these enzymes will come to you in raw fruits and vegetables. That is why it may be necessary for you to supplement regularly in order to bring this balance back to your body so that you can begin to take them in naturally. This can be done through pills that are available through the health food store or through a daily probiotic. It may take a little bit of experimentation to find something that won't upset you but once you find it, you will feel the road to recovery.
Food Allergies - an IBS Trigger
Do you have a difficulty with irritable bowel syndrome? If you do, you certainly are not alone, as the vast majority of people are going to suffer from these difficulties at some point in their life or another. The simple fact of the matter is, pinpointing exactly what is causing these problems can be a little bit difficult. One of the main reasons why this is the case is because so many different problems can be lumped together under the same disease. For example, a problem with diarrhea is considered to be dealing with the same thing as a person with constipation. Understanding this makes it obvious why treating the problem of irritable bowel syndrome is so difficult.
Believe it or not, you may have a difficulty with irritable bowel syndrome but the reason that you are actually suffering is because of the trigger that is causing the symptoms to come to the front. If you are able to keep these symptoms under control, the disease would still be going on in the background but you would not have to deal with it because of not triggering the events from taking place which caused the difficulty. One of the main things that causes these problems are food allergies.
There are a number of different food allergies that could lead to problems with irritable bowel syndrome. For example, many people are allergic to nuts and while some of them may be allergic to the point where it ends up with a death causing situation, other people may be mildly allergic so that they are only having IBS symptoms after eating the nuts. Milk is also another problem that causes these conditions regularly and many people are lactose intolerant, unable to digest the proteins that are contained within cows milk.
If you regularly have a problem with the irritable bowel syndrome, one of the best things that you can do is to keep track of all of the foods that you are eating, along with any symptoms that you may be experiencing. By doing this, you will be able to determine which foods are causing the problems in you and then avoid them so you do not have those problems coming up regularly. It may sound simplistic, but it's one way for you to be able to overcome a problem with irritable bowel symptoms once and for all.
More soon.....
thanks.

It is my belief that bran works by providing the roughage that our systems were designed for, but which we nolonger get in the average diet due to the overprocessing of foods.
I am well aware that there are many and varied complaints all labelled as ibs, but with many causes and many solutions, and obviouly therefore, what worked for me will not work for everybody. What puzzles me though, is that not one of the countless people I have told, has ever taken my advice and tried it. They continue to complain, I shake my head in disbelief. When I was suffering and desperate I would have tried anything. The only common theme amongst the disbelievers is the mistaken belief that roughage works like a laxative, and so causes or exacerbates diarrhea. Not true! Roughage gives the system regular work to do instead of the stop/start pattern from modern living. Will anybody else try it and share the outcome? Please?

Whenever most people begin having problems with irritable bowel syndrome, it tends to catch them somewhat by surprise. It certainly has an uncomfortable feel to it and in many cases, it can be quite severe, at times to the point where you may think that you have other more complicated problems. That is why it is important for you to be tested in order to make sure that the irritable bowel syndrome symptoms that you have are not part of a more serious problem, such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis.
Once it has been determined that you are dealing with irritable bowel syndrome, there are a number of different things that you may be able to do which will reduce the amount of suffering and discomfort that you are feeling regularly. Believe it or not, one of the main things that can be done is to avoid things that are causing the problems to trigger in the first place. Although you may not be able to get rid of IBS altogether, by reducing the triggers down to a minimum, you can reduce the suffering down to a minimum right along with it.
Many of the triggers that are experienced by those who suffer from IBS include the foods that they eat. This can either be because of a food allergy or because of an inability of the human body to be able to successfully digest these foods in some individuals. A classic example of this is lactose intolerance but you may also be having problems when you eat too many fruits, or perhaps even nuts.
Begin keeping a diary in which you will record absolutely everything that you eat on a daily basis. You should also record how you're feeling, even if you are feeling perfectly fine that day. It will not take very long for a pattern to begin to show itself and over the course of time, you will learn the foods that you have a problem with so that you are able to avoid them in the future. It may seem like a simplistic way of going about finding a cure but in reality, it is one of the most effective ways for you to be able to deal with the problem and get over it. Even though you're going to need to be careful for the rest of your life, in doing so, you can avoid much of the uncomfortable feelings that are associated with IBS.

There are many different functions that go on within the human body that are completely under the radar. A good example of this is the digestive process and many of us really don't give any thought to the fact that the food that we eat is broken down on the chemical level so that we are able to be energized from the nutrients that it contains. Whenever this digestive process is working properly, it does not typically give us any problems but whenever something goes wrong, those problems can be rather uncomfortable.
A classic example of this is the way that the food is passed through the large intestines and eventually expelled from the body. The large intestine will contract rhythmically in order to push the food through and to expel some additional nutrients from it along the way. Whenever we are suffering from irritable bowel syndrome, these contractions become erratic and may actually become uncomfortable. There may be times whenever the food is rapidly pushed through and expelled, a condition that is known as rapid transit. Whenever the food travels through are colon quickly, we can also experience diarrhea. When it passes through too slowly, constipation is typically a problem.
You might not believe this, but a simple way for you to be able to correct many of the problems that are associated with irritable bowel syndrome is to drink plenty of water. One of the reasons why these contractions are occurring irregularly may be as a result of the body trying to get additional water out of the feces because you're not giving enough in a natural way. That is one of the main causes of constipation and simply drinking enough water on a daily basis can often relieve and completely get rid of this constipation permanently.
Once most of us understand that the water that is fueling our body is coming from the feces it becomes a little bit easier for us to drink more water in order to overcome the problem. What you need to do, however, is to drink half of your body weight every day in ounces of water in order to be properly hydrated. You should also take some salt without water in order to allow it to stay in your body long enough to do its work. Most people receive relief from their IBS after just a few days of doing this water treatment. Continue to do it for the rest of your life, and you may be able to live a life free of your symptoms altogether.
Thanks.

Only up until 1982 that our know it all doctors told us high fat diet and stress caused peptic ulcers, when indeed it is the Helicobacter pylori bacterium that is the cause. You only have too look at the world map of peptic ulcer disease and now we see the fast paced western world dramatically reduced and the sedentry paced third world countries the highest rates!
My IBS started very shortly after contracting food posioning. Before that I was fine for 40 years.
In fact I have increased my saturated fat and Omega 3/6 fats intake dramatically with no relapse of IBS!
Therefore, I believe IBS is bacteria based; although poor diet, especially a lack of soluble fiber, bran etc doesnt help general gut health. The pain you get is from gut motility problems in the bowel and fibre regulates these contractions, holds water in the bowel and helps ferment food into chemicals your body needs.
Ever smelled a rotting peice of meat? Why does your wind smell so foul with IBS? Common link - bacteria.
I dont want to confuse IBS with Crohns or Coeliac disease which are seperate illness or a achey tummy on that first day of a new job anxiety, as thats a natural reaction of stress.
Until a cause is found, your own your own managing the symptoms, which most manage to do. I can feel a bout coming on for some reason and those days I limit my intake to 2 small meals and wait for it too pass.

Hi,
Hope you're doing great. I am experiencing the similar symptoms. What happened to your test results and how do you feel now. It would be helpful to identify my problem.
