Any positive advice please?

Good morning
I'm looking for positive advice please. I've been taking sertraline now for 7 weeks - 5 on 25 mg and now 2 on 50 mg. I'm on holiday at the moment abroad and thought my anxiety would be much better whilst away. I'm still very anxious in a morning and have to take .25 mg lezopram to settle me. I am just wondering whether sertraline is working for me - I am better than I was a few weeks ago but thought sertraline would have sorted me out by now. Do I need to give it more time as I have only been on 50 mg for two weeks?
Thanks everyone

Hi Lesley lucky you being on holiday. I would be giving it more time hun
I an on week 10 and went to doc today and need to increase to 75 she said it's a slow process. It's good you have a aid for anxiety.
Deep breaths and take in the sceney of being away from your routine.
Keep us posted

Hey, I've been on 50mg for 3 weeks and yesterday was my first true sign of any improvement. If you've felt better on 25 then I expect you're experiencing the change to 50 and will stabalise again.

hey, try not to worry too much about feeling worse before feeling better, it states in the leaflet that this is something which happens very often. it just means the meds are getting to work on you, and need some time to settle down/settle in (can take some weeks unfortunately)
keep going though ok as it's a great feeling to come out of the other side and feel sunny again, and although sometimes it feels like that will never happen, it will happen ok; all everyone needs is to be on the right med (or meds) for them, the right amount of time, and the right dose. everyone on this forum can get better, and will get better. it's a goal, and something to look forward to

Hwy Weenett, I literally have a better day, then a worse day, but I hope it's slowly improving, just to have had yesterday gives me some hope. Today isn't anywhere near as good though. I've been trying to go out and do something at least once a day, even if it's just to get to the shops. Manged to do some DIY stuff today which gave me a bit of a boost.

It's hard though, for me I'm clearing up the house ready to sell and keep having to deal with stuff from my ex or daughter, doesn't help my frame of mind although my daughter is staying this weekend so will be glad that the house should be spotless for her (ie better than when she lived here!)

Thanks for the comments guys it's great to know we're not alone in all this! I think I'm most worried because I thought I'd be fine on holiday but no the old anxiety is still there each morning. I think I'm most worried now about having taken lerazopam for 4 weeks now as well - I only take 25 mg and then I'm ok for the rest of the day but in worried I will become addicted to it!! Other than that the holiday is going ok once I've taken my lerazopam so I'm going to try and chill out and worry about everything when I get home - I'm so sorry to moan as I know I'm so lucky to be on holiday just wish I could enjoy it like I normally do 😞😞

Why don't you do every other day on 25/50mg that way it's not such a shock going from 25 to 50 straight away, do it gradually. I have done this with 100 to 150mg I was so bad a week ago I had to take a week off sick, I also had diazepam to take the edge off things. This week I'm a different person, no anxiety & feeling so much better. It's taken about 5 weeks to feel right but I've got there at last. I know you will get better, but if taking the lerezapam makes you feel better right now than take it. You won't be on it forever it's just for now. Good luck & enjoy your holiday xx
