Any Recommendation On SSRI

I know everyone is different I was wanted a sort of recommendation on what SSRI or benzo you feel worked for you the best and why. I don't want Xanax .. I was thinking, Ativan, Zoloft, etc. Been anxious about a lot and overthinking everything it seems. Also been dealing with a lot of sad days with a touch of bipolar.

Ativan , I think is used more as an as needed basis.  Not something you want to take every day.  It is quick calming, that is it.  Very additive.  It is go to use initially when you don't know what the heck is going on.  But once you learn about your anxiety disorder, it is best to learn some coping techniques.  A pill does not relieve the anxiety.  It is not a quick fix.

There is no magical pill that can take depression or anxiety completely away.  Well it could if you want to be a zombie.

With that said, I have been on Zoloft for me, it worked great.  So great in fact I thought I was cured and went off of it.  But my depression came back.  I am now on Lexapro seems to be working good.

Your absolutely right that everyone is different and their combination of what worked best for them may not be what is best for you. If the dr knew that then we would be in a lot better of a spot. My brothers take two different meds other then myself and that works for them. You just need to try meds and find out a combination of just one that works for you. It sucks believe me. I am on day 9 of citalopram. In the way past I have tried zoloft and paxil. They weren't for me. So I reluctantly decided to try again and going through the side effects. Oh I also take xanax to get through the heightened anxiety right now. I hope this message does not come off as mean that is not the intention at all. It stinks that there should be a way to tell which one is right for us.

What sucks is that this is the biggest spoke about forum on the site and that anxiety exists period but most of it is cus we think too much or put things in our body that has no place being. I'll figure it out tho!

    None...

Benzodiazepine are just sheer evil... once past a good 4 months use, we become addicts.  I started 6 years ago and it was Heaven!  Now it’s total opposite... I’m off 6.5 months and weaning began a year ago and life went to dirt since.

ssri and others all have side effects too.. it could work...   not it for me ...

i feel as you do,,,  But try not to think it’s a defect simply in your brain, but it’s defect in the way we think. Anybody when you get to the psychodynamics of it, we are programs in certain thinking pattern since birth.   Re-training our brains is the imperative thing to do. Hopefully that is your goal instead of simply finding a pill to mask it.

Depending on what you’re dealing with, there are so many wonderful audio books out there that help just that. Mindfulness meditation has been proven to be more effective than any medication.

You're absolutely right, I just need to get deep into my mind and basically sabotage my brain into thinking nothing is wrong with me, it's known to happen.. you can do many crazy things with the brain.. especially think of pain that used to be there or even didn't and the brain will create it for you if thought about hard enough
