i was on cipralex 22.5 mg and was okay . Suddenly i started having panic attacks and anxiety got very depressed ! my doctor asked me to take mirtazapine 15 mg at nite and cipralex 10 mg in the morning ! Ave been on that for a day .. Any help ?

Hi Amal 17448/the medication that your doctor has prescribe is a ssri and it works just like Citrolpram ,however this p[articular medication that you are on is for anxiety and depressing ,and takes approx 8/10 weeks to work on your brain and body

mirtazipine isn't an SSRI, it's a tetracyclic antidepressant

I'm taking both and I'm feeling much better but it has taken several months. Hang on in there. Things will get better. The Mirtazapine should give you a good night's sleep. I slept for 13 hours the first night! Make sure you don't touch a drop of alcohol. I made the mistake of having a couple of cocktails early into treatment and was incredibly drunk and extremely tired.
