HI Emma,
Absolutely I want to encourage you and just remind you that things will get better. It's very hard to see or feel that when going through the worst days and weeks of the virus, it gets you really down and feeling helpless and hopeless at times - but just hang in there each day just cope as best you can for now and don't put any pressure on yourself - just focus on resting and removing stress and being kind to yourself, that's what's really important right now.
If you can do something you enjoy each day that helps you relax, relaxation is so important Emma if you can find something that helps distract you for a little while that is good. And do talk to those you trust about how you're feeling, it's hard coping with this virus and someone who cares will listen and provide words of hope I really hope and believe Emma.
But most important word is HOPE because you ARE going to get better - this is coming from someone who went through all the anxiety and depression of the virus and thought I might always feel the way I did after 3 or 4 months - but things did get better after that Emma and it is normal for it to go on this long and then make a full and complete recovery, so take heart and remember it's okay to rest and not think about it for a while and just let time do its work and focus on managing as best as possible each day without expecting to be able to do as much as you normally would (you will be able to again though when this is all over).

If your tests came back good, I wouldn’t worry about it. I know it’s easy to give that advice but hard to take it...
My results were almost “perfect” and I’ve had so so so many tests and scans done... I was very sick for months being bed bound then house bound... I am now month 6 and feeling much better back at work part time (before, I couldn’t even last 30 minutes st work without feeling very weak and faint). Things will improve, but they are slow. Even today, I feel mild residual fatigue and just a sense of always having a very mild flu. But.. I am functioning again and so will you! You really, really will. I think that some viruses are just nasty and take a long time for our bodies to recover. The symptoms can be numerous... my girlfriend just saw a doctor for an unrelated cause and he told her
Something about a virus this year that took some people 6 months to get over!
So... just do what you can. Rest. Things will be ok

I know it is so hard, my tests were just like yours, I was feeling just terrible for months, but I have recovered and you will recover from this too, it just takes forever.
My daughter listens to guided meditation online and this helps her to relax. When I was feeling really anxious and shaky I would try a sports drink or vitamin water and that would help that feeling a bit.

Yes I have recovered from that feeling, it was so scary. My daughter has had a rough time with the virus, but she said last night her brain fog was better and almost gone for about six hours, this is how recovery starts you notice a few minutes of feeling normal, then a few hours and then days at a time, it will come and go for a long time until one day your body is able to fight it off completely.

Around 15 months, but she has worked full time the entire time she has had the virus, If she had been able to rest or take time off she would probably be fine by now. She has been exposed to a few viruses at work which has made recovery much harder.

Wow Mono that is amazing that your daughter has managed to work on for 15 months coping with this virus - tremendous credit to her and she must be a very strong and determined character. I just hope that she can get plenty of rest and relaxation in between work too, that's really important also.
Van and Mono are so right Emma, although it is kind of frustrating when your tests come back as normal when you feel far from normal(!), it is a good sign really it is - because it means there is nothing more serious going on and that the symptoms you are experiencing are almost certainly from the mono. I know that doesn't help again when going through it, but as the guys things do get better from this - this virus is in no way a life sentence although when going through it it can feel that way (!) and you do get fully better from it - absolutely you will and thinking about you Emma.
Thinking about you Van and Mono too, I always take heart from reading your words because despite going through what you and your families have been through you've taken the time to help and encourage others, including me - says so much about you!

For me a good nine months, but I am older so I think it lasts longer in older people. I would think around six months it will get lighter, its strange how the symptoms become lighter and lighter until they finally go away. You will recover, the only lesson in this is that you learn to be good to yourself and when you feel better you are so grateful and appreciate life so much. It also teaches you that you can get through anything.

Hoping you are well today Mono and Emma, and remember Emma as Mono says things do get better and God is looking after you even through the hard times of this virus and will bring you through.
Thinking about you both.
