Anybody else have any lung discomfort?

Hello ladies. I'm 46 and have been peri menopausal for about 2 years, having joint pain, hot flushes in the day and really heavy periods. More recently headaches, gas, indigestion and now haven't had a period for about 2 1/2 months. This week my anxiety has been through the roof! I've suffered from early adulthood with health anxiety that comes and goes depending how much stress I have going on, but this was like nothing I've experienced before, especially when already medicating! (I take 50mg of sertraline currently and its normally fabulous!) All that said, I wanted to ask if anybody else has had any lung discomfort? I read that the hormonal imbalance can reduce the levels of secretions in the lungs, however I don't see much mention of it on forums. Any thoughts?

Omg..I’m 46 also and have had symptoms of perimenopause for about a year and I am hating every minute! And yes, my lungs have been bothering me on and off, moreso the last few weeks and it’s making me insane! I went to the Dr, listened to my chest, lungs etc and said I was fine..my cough is better but I still feel weird discomfort...hard to explain..kind of muscular, towards my back, feels like my rib cage needs to be stretched, and some pressure and weirdness with deep breaths..that’s not a real clear description but...I feel “okay” otherwise, although I’ve been particularly exhausted since the holidays, mixed with insomnia which makes me crazy and cranky...not a lot of fun! I wish i could go back to my old self..this perimenopause is garbage!! I don’t have too much that helps, other than staying hydrated, trying to walk (not happening with this cold weather!!), and keeping up on this board so i don’t feel so crazy and alone! All the ridiculous things we experience are probably the horror that is perimenopause..I had NO idea this was such a bunch of BS, I figured a few hot flashes, some crankiness and done..hmph! Take care and know you’re not alone!!! 💜

Oh and I didn’t even mention the anxiety!! Never in my life have I been this anxious, especially in regard to my health. So entirely sick of that too..Tried lexapro and it made me soooooo sick..so here I am..realizing all the BS is perimenopause related and I’ll survive!! You will too! 👍😊

That's exactly how mine feel! So weird, as we spend most of our lives not even thinking about or noticing them. This really is crap!

Ladies - you are such a fab bunch! I've been laughing with my 6 year old since feeling better yesterday and today and telling him that my 'no patience days' are now 'crazy mummy days'! (toned down from my explanation of 'bat s**t crazy days' for my husband!). Weirdly I feel better today (emotionally and mentally) than I have felt in ages - that makes such a difference in dealing with all the other crap! Hugs xx

I had similar last March - was home from work because I thought I had pneumonia or was having an asthma attack, or worse. After X-rays and exam the doctor said I was hyperventilating. I also have the health anxiety and was so worried that I had something terminal. I started on Prozac after that and am hoping that it will carry me through so that I can at least function until this is over - I'm 50 now and have been having peri symptoms for about 2 years, but still haven't missed a period. The Prozac seems to help with the debilitating anxiety and I'm not so focussed on all the bizarre physical symptoms that happen. I've also tried meditation and am exercising which may be helping. Good luck!
