Does anybody know what this is?

I get a weird fluttering sensation under my rib, it scares the hell out of me cos it feels like my heart, but it cant be. The thing is I notice I get this when I'm extremely hot and hungrey. Is this Anxiety? Muscle spasms? Sounds all weird I know. X

Hello Arya, I would not worry too much. When it happens sit down and get a cool dring and cool off. grab something to eat aswell. I am sure it is normal. In fact i have experienced it myself a few times lol.cheesygrin If you get too too worried contact your doctor

Thank you for your reply.😃I'm on high Anxiety all the time, so its no surprise I feel and notice these things. I'm seeing a Cardiologist next week so that will put my mind at ease. Its the strangest feeling ever though really freaks me out, I don't get it all the time but when I do it freaks me right out. X

Doesn't sound like a health problem. Happens to me all of the time. I am out of breath, my chest hurts, heart beating fast(literally pounding), heart skips beats, and weird fluttering sensation or as if my heart just stopped and dropped. On top of that I get crazy everyday headaches and other stuff. Its horrible. Every little thing scares me now. I'll tell you this, this doesn't sound like a health problem....when this happens just take deep breaths and hissing breaths. Try to relax...seems hard but it will work.

    Good Luck smile

Thanks for your reply. Its comforting to know I'm not alone. These symptoms are so scary, I have major health anxiety about my heart at the moment, so anything gurgling or fluttering in that area scares me. Ahh! The joys of anxiety.😂 Xx

i also get skipped heart beats and beathlessness very annoying, been on and off for a year now, do you have anything thats happened stressfull stuff i mean as these will all trigger  these sensations?     I am not going to be beatedn and am telling myself, these will pass, focus on other things and sort of try and 'float' past them, this is coping strategy and in time you wont have so many and not even notice them........................................

I get it from time to time, heart flutters, light headed ness, weak feeling legs, and a general feeling of being unwell, I am going through it now, and it isn't very pleasant, but my mum passed away 6 weeks ago, and I had been her carer for the last 6 months, and while I could get up in the morning and not think of my own problems and rush off to see to my mum, I was ok, but for the la st 3 weeks since my life has settled down a bit, all these symptoms have reappeared, and am feeling horrible.

Sorry to hear about the lossof your mumI can sympathise with you Eurasia as I know what you must be feeling. I  care for my elderly parents and with working fulltime too things has just built up over the last few years to the point that I ended up in hospital A and E recently, diagnosed with anxiety. I selfishly thought that once they have gone things may get better but not sure if I will be able to cope with it when that time does come. I hate feeling this way as my hubby and kids don't understand

I'm really sorry to hear about your mum and what you must be going through at this difficult time. All my anxiety depression panic etc reappeared after losing my granddad, so I know how you feel. It is a struggle, I've never ever had it this bad before, I've been diagnosed with PTSD and OCD as well now too. 😞 But I believe we will get through it in time. Its just the symptoms can be extreme. 😞 Xxxx

Yes I get this fluttering in that area too Arya and thought it was only me. I feel it sometimes when I stoop over or when I'm relaxed sitting or lying down.   It's a wierd sensation and I keep think my heart is going to stop.

I am so glad I've come across this. I have had heart flutters (although sometimes feels in my throat), which is followed by a rapid heart rate, chest pain or back pain (sometimes both!). Felt like a completely normal 30 something til this started 2 years ago. Have had countless heart tests (including invasive tests for SVT) and the docs say all normal and its anxiety. I am still in complete denial about this (as previously could cope with any stress). How can anxiety make me feel so physically ill, when I don't feel stressed (only about the symptons). I spend hours on the net looking for the physical solution the docs have missed. Avoided all drugs offered for now but thinking I may have to give in at some point.
