Anyone dealing with a genetic cartilage problem?

I have wide spread osteoarthitis affecting small bones of hands, feet, wrists, cervical spine, and large joints, knees and elbows. Both sides are affected about the same. xrays, mri, and ultrasound has found no erosions. Blood tests all normal, and the Rheum ran many different tests for inflammatory arthitis. Coming down to a genetic defect. I am a small, healthy, 62 year old woman. Only other issue is I have been hypo thyroid for 44 years. Any comments would be appreciated. Happy Spring!!

Sounds pretty painful though: my knees are my only issue .. at the moment: And that's bad enough to deal with.
Are you in chronic pain??

Thanks for your reply Gail, hope you can get relief and take care of your knees.....The strange thing is that I don't have alot of pain,(docs are amazed) but seems like something always is hurting somewhat. I have had ongoing problems with my feet for almost 25 years. In 2004 Lots of widespread odd tendonitis and bursitis followed, with joint pains and resulting joint deformities, lumps and bumps. I just dealt with my GP and Podiatrist telling me it was "just a little arthritis. Last Dec I had an a very severe flare of foot pain and wrist pain that finally got the attention of my doctors, resulted in Xrays, MRIs and all of a sudden they were all very concerned! Xrays, and MRIs showed "severe degenerative arthritis" in feet, toes, fingers, wrists, elbows, and several lower cervical joints. Pain???? I'm not sure how bad is bad. Been functioning (and not functioning) thru this for a long time. Not sure what is in store for my future of pain, but if the past flare is any indication I am not looking forward to that!
