Anyone else?

Hi,

I've wrote on here a few times regarding some of my symptoms, but every day is a struggle and finding it really hard to cope. I'm 22 and am currently awaiting investigations from Neurology. I've been diagnosed nearly 2 years.

What I'm struggling with right now is pain - Everywhere aches and I can't even roll over in bed at night without feeling like I've broken every bone in my body. But what I'm really worried about is that it is so painful to touch my chin with my chest, I can just about stretch it but it strains my whole back and shoulders. Does anyone else suffer with this?

Worried,

Lauren

    Lauren:

I'm so sorry you're suffering with this. Pain is very common with ME/CFS. Assuming your neurology investigations don't turn up anything, there are 2 types of specialists who can maybe help you: an infectious disease doctor who specializes in ME/CFS or a rheumatologist who specializes in ME/CFS. I hope you can find some relief from your symptoms.

Hi Lauren, i am 11 months into my CFS and just recently (2 weeks ago) starting taking 100mg doxycycline twice/day.I am feeling better. I am not 100% sure it is teh doxycycline as i am taking other supplements but i feel strongly people with the mysterious CFS diagnosis with no real cause and given the very real unreliability of lyme disease testing we should all do one month of doxycycline and see what happens.

Hi I am also suffering from back pain due to panic disorder for the last 31 years since 1983 from my 19th year.  No pain killer can cure this.  Finally I am manging with antidepressant and relaxation therapy (self hypnosis).

    Hi Lauren,

I've just come across your post and have exactly the same problem with pain... I have recently been diagnosed and some days the pain is just unbearable. I suffer mostly with my legs and hips, however, I do also get shooting pains from my head through my neck and shoulders from time to time.

I have tried various different painkillers and NOTHING helps, I just feel like I don't know where to turn. I am now taking co-codamol daily after doctor recommending this but am also finding this makes little to no difference. I am also on Amitryptinline which is yet to work...

Since originally posting this have you found anything that helps with the pain? If you have found anything else I would be greatful for advice.

    Kristy x
