Anyone else experience Opacity or cloudy vision after Cataract surgery?

It started the next day after surgery (my first eye) and continues. This is the third day after surgery. It is very noticeable in dimly lit rooms. It is a Sunday and I cannot contact the doctors office today and worried. When looking this up it sound like "posterior capsule opacity" but it sounds like that doesn't happen this fast. Has anyone experienced this?

The vision varies a lot while the eye is healing for several weeks after cataract surgery while you are still using the special eyedrops. That is why they don't recommend getting a new eyeglasses Rx until after at least 6 weeks, allowing for the eye vision to stabilize after that much time.
I experienced several days of blurry/cloudy vision early on during that period. It varied quite a bit, one day clear vision and the next very blurry, and so on. But my vision finally stabilized about 4-6 weeks from the surgery and when I could stop using the eyedrops that I believe also affected the vision.
I did eventually get PCO but that took almost 3 years! I recently got the YAG procedure that makes a small hole in the center of the PCO-cloudy membrane behind the lens and now my eye vision is very stable and clear again and the best its ever been.

Thank you! That makes me feel better. The doctor is going to look at it tomorrow just to make sure all is well before they do my second eye Thursday

I remember another reason for blurry/cloudy vision soon after cataract surgery is possibly temporary cornea swelling (edema). You can have the eye doctor check for that too during the exam.

The practice my doctor followed is for the surgeon to examine the eye 24 hours after surgery, and if there are no complications the optometrist at 3 weeks. I did not experience any cloudy vision. I think you are correct in that PCO should not show up in a matter of hours. I am 6 months out and still no hints of any cloudy vision.

Thanks Yes that's the same practice my doctor follows. They offered to look at again tomorrow for me.

I am just wondering if you managed to get your 'cloudy vision' sorted out after your cataract surgery. I had my cataract surgery three days ago and ever since I have had cloudy/blurry vision. It feels as if there is a film over my eye and I am looking through frosted glass. I did go to the eye department where I had my operation, but they were not really interested. They just said I had to wait until I could see the optician in four weeks' time. In fact, the doctor said I probably needed glasses. It was my understanding that my long distance vision would be okay and I would just need glasses for close work - as has been the case for many years. I was told that it was quite a mature cataract and I wonder if this could be the reason for the problem I am experiencing. I am rather worried as I feel there could be something else going on. Has anyone else experienced this problem.
