Anyone else felt better when starting taking fluoxatine straight away? Feel something is wrong

so the last year i have been suffering with severe anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts and was recently diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. after being on citalopram and then working great for 10 years i had to stop them cold turkey 2 years ago due to liver failure. so about a year ago i started taking mirtazapine which helped me to an extent and stopped working all together. so my dr started me back on cit a month ago. it made me suicidal and had to stop treatment. i was told to wait a week and to start on fluoxatine. straight after taking my first one i felt calm. really calm. and im never calm. im irrational and overthink everything. im on day 4 and i have had no side affects other than some heart palpitations and a little insomnia but other than that i feel absolutely great. almost back to normal. i have looked it up and it says that it tends to be a bad sign and that your might not be working properly.

has anybody else felt better straight away starting flu or any other antidepressants and had it continue to work? or is this the calm bwfore the storm and i am going to become very unwell or end up having a bad reaction weeks down the line. my head's all over and I have been so poorly for so long. sorry to ramble on but i honestly felt last week like i was in such a dark place and was fighting a battle it was only a matter of time i lose. i couldn't handle things going wrong with this one. any replies would be much appreciated. x

i dont see why thats a bad sign? i felt like that the first few days as well. my side effects were headaches and throat pain and it started about 5-7 days after starting 20mg capsules.

it got better every week. its a good drug so try to stick it out. the only issue is it takes up to 3 months to see the full effect so dont give up. you're already off to a good start.
