Anyone else had similar problems with thier Liver

2 years ago I had far higher thab usual Liver function test results and was referred to a hepatologist, I had a lot of ultrasounds on my body and was told I had scarring on my Liver. Recently I have been told that Fibroscan results suggests potentially early stage Cirrhosis. This scares me a bit as I am only 19, I have never drunk alcohol or smoked, yet I have these unexplained liver problems - is anyone else having similar problems?

Sorry to hear about you recent test results. It would worry me to be told I had early stage cirrhosis.
Did they do a full liver blood panel?
I don't mean liver function tests. I mean genetic markers, auto immune disease, full hepatitis panel, HIV etc.
If you have honestly not drank a drop of alcohol and your diet is good. I think the reason for this must be something along the line of genetics or hepatitis. Lupus can cause liver problems. Have you done any research?

I have had Glomerulosclerosis since birth so I don't drink alcohol to avoid further damage to kidneys and diet is fine. I have had the full blood tests several times which all came back fine, I have been referred to the Liver specialists at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and even they are not sure of the cause of my liver problems. I had told them that my mother had Lupus but they don't seem to think it is that. I am certain it might be something genetic, because I recently looked at my medical history and it seems I was diagnosed with an enlarged spleen, which the doctors seem to think is related to the liver problem, when I was 2 so I plan to mention that when I go back up to Birmingham in a couple of weeks time - although no one in my family has any liver problems.

Good luck with everything. I would recommend Dr Google for something's and this time it may help you to be ready with all the stuff they might do or look at. I don't let the consultants pull the wool over my eyes and I know a lot about everything now which does help me. So try and be prepared. You might be able to suggest things or know of things they might not of thought of.
All the best.

Been doing a bit looking around on Google, the guys at the QE seem just as stumped about my liver problems as the Doctors at the RBH in Reading, Berkshire. Well I all can is be optimistic I suppose.

Do you have a copy of your blood results as that can also show what your problem is.
