anyone else had this?

After sudden onset of severe dizziness which didn't go away after 10 hours (including one night of very disturbed sleep) I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with left-ear BPPV. He performed the Epley and Semont manoeuvres and told me to keep doing these at home. After seeing the doctor I felt less dizzy for a few hours but by midday I was back to the spinning room feeling. I'm now on my second day of constant dizziness despite doing the exercises as prescribed. Everything I'm reading about BPPV says the dizziness only lasts for short periods and is set off by positional changes, but mine is continuous, even when I'm sitting or lying completely still the dizziness doesn't go away. Could it be that the diagnosis was incorrect or maybe I am just unlucky and have it worse than most people? I am 30 and completely fit and healthy.

Hi Joosie, he was wrong to lead you into thinking it's an instant fix and for you to try and fix it - you might be highly effected by motion sickness which can make the process harder to correct - as an avert recovering BPPV victim and now have what they refer to as MAV I would be seeing the balance clinic that deals with Vertigo /BPPV as they are the experts ! I was forwarded on from my GP to the physio who takes the job in hand doing correct epleys and she forwarded me onto a vertigo specialst as nothing would help and made it worse - 5 months later and flying two states down the Australian coast I had the Omniac chair that did the trick - find the nearest physio that specialises in the Epley and seek the closest balance clininc !

For some it's fixed there and then however for many like me its 7 years on and off

The epley will make you feel worse to.

You then need to look at VRT to deal with any damage the crystals have caused
