Anyone else notice white lines and/or patches throughout mouth after mono?

Hey guys. So when this all started, about 2 months ago (didn't even know I had mono at the time).. I started freaking out because I had white lines on the sides on both sides of my cheeks, inside of my lips, tongue, and white patches on my gums. I went to dentist and he said probably from virus and it doesn't look harmful but if it's still there in a month or so to go back and get a special mouth rinse. I will be going soon for that since it hasn't gone away. Aside I even noticed white little specs on the inside corner of my eye too- but went to eye doc and he said everything looked healthy. Has anyone experienced anything like this during or after having mono ??

    Do you chew gum?

    They might be linea alba

      I never had this issue before the mono so that's why I thought it may be linked. Since it is on my tongue, lips, and gums as well rolleyes

    Hey Skippy,

    Sorry to hear you've had these symptoms after mono, it was over 10 years ago since I had it so hard to remember but it did cause all sorts of strange after effects. You've done the right thing going to get it checked by the dentist, and take heart from the fact they don't see anything to worry about in it - also get it checked with the doctor too if unsure, hoping things settle down soon. Things do get better from this virus but it can take a bit of time so hang in there and remember you will fully recover.

    This happened to me too with mono and I was also chewing inside my mouth in my sleep which caused some sores. It freaked me out at the time. I thought I had oral cancer but it cleared up.

      Omg such a relief to hear. About How long did it take to clear up for you ??

      I can't remember tbh. I think it could have been 5 or 6 months before all the mouth and throat stuff calmed down fully but it took about 10months for me to get my energy levels back. I just had 5sessions of acupuncture. This virus is insane. I also stopped eating gluten 3months ago and I think that has helped me too.

      Hang in there Skippy....it's a horrible experience to go through but remember you will make a full recovery and get better - there is hope it's just so frustrating when going through it. But believe me, even through the days you feel like you'll never get there, you most definitely will and there is definitely hope today, thanks to God who will bring recovery and restoration. Thinking of you.

      P.S. Vitamins and herbs really helped my recovery, a good strong multi-vitamin per day, B complex (for energy), high levels of Vitamin C (1000mg-3000mg per day) and an immune boosting herb like siberian ginseng, oregano or echinicea - worth a go for sure and really helps boost your immune system through the virus.

      Yes I am trying my best to keep up with vitamins so I can return back to my health!! Thank you those are all great suggestions.

      Thank you so much that is very kind of you. I have been praying so much and that really helped me get through the worst times and now it helps me to move forward. Trying my best to stay optimistic and not freak out about every side effect that was left over. I am also healing from Pericarditis that was caused by it. I can't wait till this is all in the past. Thank you again !!

      Oh I do understand Skippy how tough it is to stay positive when going through such a hard time, you're by far doing the right thing by praying and taking the problems to God. I'm doing that too at the moment for back pain and problems in my life. Just grateful that God is there to listen to us and help us through and I believe he will help us Skippy, hang in there - you WILL get through this and will make a TOTAL AND FULL recovery, remember just take things slowly and it will come bit by bit, just so frustrating I know.

      You have been a God sent to all of us. I know that I would have not made it this far without God and your encouragement. I have never been so sick in my life. I am still not fully recovered, but I see improvements. satan wants us to give up, but God puts people like yourself in our lives to keep us going. I pray that whatever is going on with you will be resolved in Jesus name.

      Oh Brent thanks so much for saying something so nice to brighten my day, definitely I agree with your prayers in Jesus name that we will get through our hard times at the moment and I believe that we will thanks to God.

      Keep hanging in there Brent, you're right the enemy wants us to give up but we're not doing that so keep strong and trust in God - things will continue to get better for you, I really do believe that without any doubt at all Brent.
