Anyone else's tummy changed shape?

Forgive me if I have touched on this subject before, I can't remember if I have or not.
I had my total hysterectomy (LAVH & BSO) 2 and a half years ago now, I have been having terrible problems with weight gain (am working hard to lose it) but has anyone else (similar time post op) noticed that their tummy has chaged shape? I have gained weight in the past before my op but all stayed pretty much the same only fatter LOL however this time it looks different, of course I might just be getting paranoid about it and that would make things look worse than they are but if someone else has experienced similar I would be interested to hear about it then perhaps I could breathe a sigh of relief while getting back on my treadmill and contiuing to eat my lettuce leaves like a good girl.
Thanks
Phoebe.

I am 7 weeks post op and have a noticeable shape to my full lower half. I know i still have some swelling to go down but i am definitely a different shape. Up to now i havent gained any weight thankfully but i have had to buy a bigger size jeans. I have read this happens a few times. My advice would be love your shape and size. Im tryinf to do just that xxx

Hi Sharon, yes in the first few weeks your tummy will swell up, it's known infamously as 'swelly belly' this will settle down eventually, I do hope that you won't put on any weight it's not funny, I'm fed up .

I got my op 25 months ago. My shape has changed dramatically and my tummy is big. I mentioned it to the doctor and she said that my tummy would never be what it was before the op. Another change that was not discussed with me before the op. If I could turn back the clock I wish I had known all about the after effects of this op. Then I would have been better equipped to deal.

Hi Lee, hope you are well (apart from your tummy)? I am getting so depressed about it, I bought 2 lovely hardly worn tops from my fave auction site and yes they fit me but they just don't hang right, I wasn't told anything about this either but my op was rushed because of the stage 1A, so I didn't have much of a choice, I have been trying different diets 5:2 being my favourite one but nothing changes and I do abdominal exercises, nothing, I don't know what to do now.

Hi Phoebe
I'm thinking there is nothing I can do now so I'm accepting it instead of beating myself up about it. I don't ever feel nice going out anymore. It's rubbish.

Before I get in the shower I turn our full length mirror round, I can't bear to look at myself, I grew up in the 60's and we used to wear things called tent dresses (hippy style) think I actually need the tent now LOL. x

Haha I'm the same. I now can't bear to look at myself naked. Lost a lot of confidence. Although not bleeding anymore is awesome. It doesn't matter what I do now. The weight around my middle is there to stay. And I now keep myself much more healthy xx

Yes I have to say that not bleeding anymore is a plus and I'm still here so also a plus so for that I am thankful. x

Nicola, I am so sorry for all the problems you are having, that's not nice at all and I hope all gets better for you soon.
I was really quite fed up yesterday (I still am) but in light of what's been happening in UK recently, my problems are very minor and I'm grateful for that.

Hi, i agree with all the replies and i know my belly does look a bit different but i have found i can keep it under control by drinking pints and pints of water and by working out ridiculous amounts ie: running and an hour of floor exercises every night.
I know this isn't an option for some people but i'm also worried about weight gain during menopause as well (rumoured you put on approx 13lbs) so really trying so hard to not put any weight on, sometimes i feel like just stopping all the exercise but i know i would just look at a cake and put on 7lbs. We are all beautiful and really shouldn't beat ourselves up but i think its just ingrained in us.
