Anyone else suffer from 'Post Nasal Drip'? It's really getting me down.

Looking for some help!!! For the last 3 months I've been suffering from what the doctors are saying is 'Post Nasal Drip' or 'PND' and I just wondered if anyone was going through the same hell as me. It started with a cough which has now developed into maybe every other morning or every third morning coughing up so badly that I produce a load of clear white bubbly mucus liquid. Sometimes just a spoonful amount or sometimes what feels like half a cup full. I feel I have a bitter taste in my mouth all the time and feel like I'm producing more saliva than normal, I often feel like I have a lump at the back of my throat. I'm not actually sick although it's the same feeling as being sick and I go through the same motions as being sick and then after a load of dry retching I can finally feel the mucus coming up and then I eventually bring it up. Literally after that I start feeling better until the next episode a couple of days later. It happens first thing in the morning and really disrupts my morning until I bring it up.
I've tried everything like nasal douche, antihistamines, nasal sprays with steroids and so on. I've tried eating earlier as I thought there could be a connection with my acid reflux that I've had for years. I'm on omeprazole in the morning and ranitidine in the evening for the reflux. I'm now starting to think I might be lactose intolerant as my Dad is and I know that diary can cause nasal issues thus resulting in post nasal drip.
Anyone else have similar issues? Would be grateful for your views.

ive just got over it .. had it for well over t a year seen ent twice for the lump in the throat i think may have been from swallowing so much and acid reflux
so ive put bricks under the legs of the top of the bed .. stopped eating in the evening and cut beer right down and after many months the lump or feeling of one has gone and the nasel drip finally stopped! has been back a few times but not for long
im guessing its some kind of infection that eventually cleared up but it took for ever

hey definatly coughing witch im pretty sure was from the acid reflux never seemed to stop coughing not really bringing up much mucus though but not stop swollowing of it
really think the acid reflux was at least half of the problem .. maybe giving up beer helped me fight of the infection too that caused the nasal drip i really dont know . but like i said it went on forever .. its back now but no lump in tje throat just drip and not as bad .. but do have a bit of a cold

Have you seen an ENT specialist? That stands for ear, nose and throat.

Not yet, maybe thats the next step. I personally think my acid reflux is causing all this I'm going through.

Matt could you try not to eat anything for 3 hours prior to your bed time . Also try to go to bed at 11 pm if possible ( basically before the cough starts or nasal issues)
Also use three pillows or reflux pillow ( you can find it on ebay and amazon)
Also try to cut on diary products or anything that causes you allergy reaction and see how it goes. You can do a food intolerance blood test too.
Pls update

Thanks for your reply M.Karl. I have tried the things you've suggested but not on a regular basis. All this week I'm eating by 8pm and not going to bed before 11pm. I'm also sleeping upright and for the first time giving up diary for the week just to see if that makes a difference. I was allergic to mil as a child so maybe I have now become allergic as an adult. Thanks for the info on the food blood tests. I've looked this up and it looks like you can get your doctor to do a basic skin prick test that should show up any issues I might be having with food so I'll talk to him about this when I see him next week. The biggest issue I have and the thing that's affecting me the most is coughing up this mucus it's horrible.
