Anyone else wake up feeling jittery and anxious, and it gets better as the day goes on?

Hi all, does anybody else taking sertraline feel anxious in the morning, only for it to improve as the day goes on. By the evening I almost feel back to normal again. Currently taking 75mg a day at lunchtime, in week 3 now?

Yup exactly the same here, wake up at 6:30am every morning on the dot and lie overthinking things for about an hour. Once up and at work I'm ok then around 12/1pm which is 4 hrs after taking my tablet I get some jitters but passes after about an hour. Then later in the evening usually feel quite good but recently noticed a bit of a dip around 6-8pm. * only be on Sertraline for 4 weeks, definitely feel more anxious at this stage.

Hi bob glad to hear its not just me, good on you for still going to work. I've been having difficulty getting out and about on my own, and havent been to work since I started the sertraline. Lets hope the morning anxiety passes for both of us soon 👍

Before I started taking Sertraline, and shortly after, I used to wake up on the dot at 6:30am. It didn't matter when I slept I would always wake up at 6:30am. I'd feel restless and feel the need to constantly toss and turn and move my legs. I read this is a classic sign of depression.

In my case it definitely got better as the tablets started to work. I switched to taking my tablets at 11pm and I slept like a baby. I now love my bed. It feels comfortable and nice! Honestly that's a feeling I haven't had for a very long time.

If your situation is similar to mine it will definitely improve. I've now switched back to taking tablets at 11am because I started to oversleep.

Hi hope you do not mind but i have just read what you said and being a sufferer for a long time and not knowing it till recent, i have had to work out myself how to deal with it, as you can not keep running to the doctor every 5 minutes , they are there to help you but they are not going through it, and every day you may feel different, i see by your day you wake up 6.30 and you lie there and have time to think instead of getting straight up and start getting ready for work, so time to think and worry, once at work you are ok because you are busy and your mind has no time to worry and think about bad things except work, and 12 and 1pm you said you get th jitters i guess that is lunch time where again you have time to think about things again, then you said you feel not too bad in the evening but yo noticed a dip around 6-8 ,  i take it that is when you finish work, so you have the rest of the evening to let your mind drift to things that worry you again, so i do not want to sound like a know it all because i am not i just talk from experience , keeping busy really does help, and doing things you enjoy will really help to take your mind of things, well i hope this helps

Yes! I wake up with my whole system feeling shaky. I have diarrhoea in the morning then things improve by the evening.

I have dropped from 50mg to 25mg today because my doctor thinks the Sertraline might be causing the gut and shakes problem. I will keep you posted!

Hi i take sertraline , have been for the past 6 weeks 50mg for the first 3 weeks then the doctor up it up to100mg, but i felt terrible so i decided to put myself back down to 50mg, no trouble from my doctor, but though i did that i wake up still feeling anxious bt to be honest since taking them i have had a lot of trouble sleeping, no more than 3 hrs a night, you say you are back to normal again by the evening, if you are this way i do not think you should worry it sounds great that you can feel this way and stick with these seeing as you have only been on them for 3 weeks, let me know your progress over the next few weeks take care
