Anyone ever been diagnosed with a tumor?

Little history before possible diagnosis. 2011 _ 12 arthiscopies on both knees. 2014..complete left hip replacement by ortho Dr. 2015, mystery symptoms appearing. Ortho Dr takes x rays & everything normal on other parts of body. Consult him about knees, says it's only arthritis & offers PT & Motrin. 2016, see medicine physicians. Prescribes Motrin & offers PT also. Gives me knee braces. Just like other Dr, tell him can't afford PT, only on SSD _ can't afford minimum$120.00 a month for it. Go see GP last Monday & takes x rays. Highly suspects tumor in left knee, knees horribly arthritic. Starting testing this Friday. Anyone else experience this?

If you are on SSD, then you should be eligible for state assistance. I don't go to PT but I have looked up exercise programs to do and that along with a lot of walking has helped. You won't walk a mile or two overnight as you have to build up to what you can endure. I have suffered with arthritis since my 30's and am now pushing 70. I have had as many surgeries as you and also have heart problems. If you want to live and live well, you need to work at it. I am very active. Sure I cry over pain and yes there are days when I feel like I can't move. But I fight through those. The weather today is damp, overcast and dark and yes, I would like to crawl back to bed but I am leaving for the park. Weight is important and so is good food but attitude rules! I do take Garbapentin for years with no problems but I listen to my doctor and her advice. I have anemia, heart disease, joint replacements everywhere and severe stomach issues of which have resulted in many surgeries. Just ask yourself how you want to live and build a plan.

After Xrays noting the usual bone problems of the aged, my knee continued to swell and on and off and ached constantly. I was on my own suffering without any true diagnosis. I pressed my internist to get me a MRI (I am in the US and on Medicare. Medicare will pay for MRI's) Surprise, surprise....while in the machine I had a hemorrhage in the knee, expreme pain, total swelling of the leg. Diagnosis a rare disease called PVNS (tumors and overgrowth of the lining of the knee, periodic bleeding etc) You need an MRI to see what kind of tunor growth you have. The Xray could not have said that you had a tumor, the doctor just concluded that the soft tissue there may be a tumor . There are other rare tumor-like diseases of the knee joint that the MRI will uncover. Surgery on the tumor, should they find one, should be done by an orthopedic/oncologist, first choice. Inis syour case, maybe it is something that is torn and fixable, unlike these tumors. I have elected to not have the surgery and deal with the effects of the disease as best I can. I sncerely hope that you have just something torn with an easy fix.
Sure is hard to get old. Hope your tests tell you what you need to hear. Incidentally, PT never, ever did me any good on my severe arthritic bones and only caused me more swelling because of the soft tissue disease.

Hi Conner. Thanks for UR input. Wow. From MI. Only 59, not eligible for Medicaid, besides, supposedly make too much money on SSD, what a joke. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I agree about PT. I'm scheduled for a bone scan Monday. After results, then maybe another, probably, MRI. This FM, migraines and CFS is taking its toll on me this past week. Interupting my sleep waking up @3 in the a.m. in pain. My whole sleep schedule is way off. Weather playing havoc. Well, let's hope for a positive pain free day.😜
