    Nicole...

jaw stiffness or clamping. ..grinding of teeth...yes yes..yes..neck ache at the moment...white noise ...slight nausea...lethargy...anxiety...you name it...but all quite mildly...my side effects are now seemingly giving way to a feeling of wellbeing....today....at times...I have felt utterly amazing...I do have some moments of uneasiness but wow...I'm on week 7 by the way ...and just gone up to 40mg ..

Thank you for your reply. I have taken it a year and half ago but I only remember having a little increased anxiety. I Started flu back today and already can feel tightness in my jaw. I was taking paxil for the last two months.

Can I ask what other side effects you had and when you started seeing results?

I had increased anxiety & all I can describe as a flat black cloud hanging over me & it was always worse on waking, also nausea, tiredness, lethargy, no appetite, white noise, headaches, shaking, heat & sweat, I was on 20mg for 2 weeks then upped to 40 mg & really suffered with the above even more for about 7 days then day by day the anxiety & depression eased, then the sweats, then the nausea, I'm into my 6th week & I'm now back at work only part time at the moment as although I feel a lot better I'm still at 70% but looking at everybody's post it seems to take 8 weeks on average to get there. I don't know how I would of coped with this if it hadn't been for this forum - just when I thought I couldn't take much more there was always somebody on here that where going through the same or had been there & were now on the way to good times xx

Yikes I've taken it before but don't really remember. I'm working full time and praying I can push through because I don't want to lose my job. I'm switching from paxil now to the Prozac so this is my first day. Did you take another antidepressants prior to this one? Did you take any adj like Xanax or Klonipin for the anxiety when you started them?

No this is my first time on anti depressants - I was offered a beta blocker to help with my anxiety but I didn't take up the offer foolish me lol

I've taken Prozac before for a traumatic miscarriage at 5 1/2 months. The Prozac cured my anxiety/depression in two months and which I stopped taking it. Fast forward a year and half and I had another miscarriage and now in the same situation sad

    Hi

Yes in fact at 17ish wks I still find my jaw clenching but not aching now. I used to lie in bed wondering what the faint squeaky noise was until I realised it was me clenching and grinding!

It can take a long while and second time seems to be harder and/or completely different second time around. I think I had most side effects, still get a few but its sometimes hard to know if they're down to anxoety and depression or fluox.

Expect some ups and downs, hope it all passes for you quickly.

The side effects were worse the second time? I'm switching from paxil to flu and just started today. I've taken flu before and hope they work again. Did they work for depression/anxiety the second time?

First time I was on citalopram briefly, little or no side effects n felt better within weeks so much so I came off them after 4-5months (bad move as it turns out!). 6-7 months later hit me again n went on citalopram for 8wks didnt help nausea or anxiety but depression lifted slightly but this time it physically knocked me out. Couldnt get up slept 14-16hrs a day n was just too tired to function. Changed to flu n got more energy almost immediately but started the rollercoaster of other side effects.

It really can take a long time theres no quick fix but it can am andd will get better. Keep a diary of how you feel emotionally and physically, its sometimes hard to see positive changes in yourself when you are going through so much.

      Keep with it!

Helped mood a bit but side effect of sheer exhaustion was debilitating. . Doesnt mean things wont work for others or it wouldnt work again for me, its all so random unfortunately.

When you first started did your mood seem worse before it got better? I feel like I'm happy then sad then hyper and then tired all in one day.

Sorry nicole, not been on here for a bit. Yes mood got worse first but I was so physically ill then had physical side affects too that it could have been down to that or flu, not sure which or prob both.

If your mood gets really black talk to someone, call dr or even a helpline. Dont bottle it up.

Hope the last few days has brought some improvement for yoy.

      Take care
