Anyone Experience this as well ?

My mother has had little side effects with her first 5 chemo treatmentsTaxol/Carbo but started developing Nueropathy so they switched her chemo meds on the 6th cycle and it got worse and shes having every side effect you can think of now .. Has anyone gone through this and if so what did they do ?

    you need to speak with her doctor / specialist so they can adjust her meds anti sickness etc my son had carboplatin 6 rounds with rubimycin he tolerated it quite well but medications needed adjuting the further we got into it by round 6 he was quite unwell and needed blood transfusions and platelets as he became neutropenic

    ahe has an appt next week but How is your son ? Did they get him back on tract ?

      he had a 13 cm tumor on his adrena gland on his kidney he had surgery to remove it he did well started chemo after the 6 rounds went into remission he relapsed it came bck in his leg and same area were they removed the first tumor 3 months after so we started high dose chemo for another year he had immunotherapy he went back into remission for a further 3 months before relapsing again to his bowel they was going to remove part of the bowel they did another scan but it had spread to far his spine bowel leg and liver thy wouldnt treat it no more it was terminal he lived for 2 years with no treatment at all after that he had it for 5 years in total and passed Away 2 years ago

      i hope it didnt sound like some kind of horror story lots of people get cancer and lots of people are successfully treated my son had a very aggressive form i hope your mum makes a full recovery and the side effects ease off next week is a while away from now if the side effects are bad u should ring someone whos been treating her
