Anyone facing menopause without hormone replacement?

Posted , 3 users are following.

I am 2 weeks post op total hysterectomy, and I feel like a crazy mess!!!!!!!! I have hot flases all day, worse at night so I can't sleep, and if someone else says you OK i might have to buy another box of tissues because I can't stop crying. I cannot use any replacement hormones because I had endometrial cancer (endometrial stromal sarcoma), and from what I understand it's hormone fed, meaning hormones would help it thrive and it would have a greater rate of return. Please someone tell me what's worked for you. Erin

Oh bless you, you must be so down with it all. What about taking something herbal? I'd speak to your doctor and ask for some advice. I really feel for you. I was put on hrt as I was the same as you, but that doesn't help you if you can't take it. Hope you can get sorted soon. Take care X

    Hi Erin,

I had a hysterectrom back in October 2014, and I had everything taken out.  I didnt want to go on HRT so I am currently taking herbal supplements of Sage and Black Cohosh from Holland and Barrett.  I still get the sweats at night and during the day, but they are not as bad as there were when I first had my operation. Its worth trying the different supplements to see what works for you. I am still not totally satisified, so I am still looking for another althernative.  All the best in your search.  Sharon

Thank You Sharon! I have a doctors appointment with my primary care dr today to discuss. While I like my oncologist, my PCP knows me better. XO
