Hiya I had my back surgery 3 months ago after 10 months in pain with slipped disc.

All is not to bad my back I feel am so uncomfortable and still can't sit for long .

My problem is which is bit embarrassing is I only get nerve pain down me leg when I open my bowels .and stays like that for hours . I don't seem to get nerve pain any other time apart from when I go toilet.

Have told me physio and she said we keep a eye on it . Today I have lot of nerve pain, so was wondering anyone else had this.problem

Thanks again

No, but I know how to avoid straining.

When I was about to have shoulder surgery nearly four years ago I purchased a bidet which I still use to avoid straining. It is the best thing I have ever purchasedĀ in my life.

The water is aimed up into the bowel which allows for ease of toileting.

I am trying to be delicate. It cost about $1,000 and has been worth every cent.

Look online to see how it works. Straining is so bad for the back and I have bulging discs amongst other health issues.

personally I would go back to your surgeon and ask them rather than your physio.  perhaps you need another MRI to ensure surgery has worked properly or something hasn't happened since which has made some of the disc slip again.  don't leave there without either an x-ray or MRI promise.    also perhaps reduce what you eat and stick to lots of fruit and veg?
