Anyone had surgery again, to correct a failed bunion surgery?

i had both my feet done about 5 months ago. my left is amazing and i feel like a new woman! but i knew very early on that my right foot wasnt the same! they didnt straighten it as much (it was quite bad, surgeon had mentioned about making sure the gap between big toe and second wasnt too large) but i cant help but wonder if i would have had a different outcome had they straightened it fully.

over the last few months ive started having more and more pain in the joint. I am back exercising but struggle with pain in my right foot after.

i have my 6 month check up and review first week in April so i will mention it then. anyone had a similar experience? what was advised? did you have another surgery? if so did it help?

i am 33 so really keen to get it right so i can have some good years ahead running around pain free with my children! altho the thought of another surgery and all that comes with it is frustrating

thank you for your time and for reading.

xx

    HI

I HAD BOTH MY FEET DONE 2 YEARS AGO , MY SURGEON DID BUNIONECTOMY AND HAMMER TOES AND STRAIGHTENED ALL MY OTHER TOES.

WELL I AM GOING IN TO HAVE THEM DONE AGAIN, ALSO CORRECTING 3 TOES ON EACH FOOT.

HE IS GOING TO FUSE THE TOES THIS TIME.

PLEASE TELL ME IF ANYONE OUT THERE HAS HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE.

IS FUSING A BIG JOB ?

    THANKS

I had my bunion done the first time over 3 years ago and it looked worse than before I had it done and pushed my little toe outwards so that was painful and my shoes rubbed against it. At my final appointment, when I said I wasn't happy, they said I could have my little toe amputated and gave me 6 months to think about it. This operation was done by a podiatrist. I had it done again last December by an orthopaedic surgeon who did a fusion operation this time and it has been a success. Also I had no pain at all after the operation, unlike the first one when I had a lot of pain.
