Anyone had this as a result of anal fissure?

I have had problems with a fissure for almost 6 years now (i also have internal haemorrhoids ... great stuff!!), my flare ups are almost always triggered when I stop watching what I eat and become slightly constipated. My usual symptoms are extreme pain and blood when going to the bathroom and these symptoms tend to calm down after 2-3 weeks. However over the past 4 weeks, while having a 'flare up' I have began to pass mucus containing blood, this has been happening both with and without a bowel movement. The feeling begins like im going to pass gas but quickly becomes apparant there is something else, the feeling is very urgent and I have to get to the bathroom asap. This happens most days, sometimes only once, usually in the morning before a bowel movement and often again in the late afternoon/evening without a bowel movement. There isnt always blood with the mucus but the majority of the time, its there. I had these symptoms a few years ago for the first time and went to the doctor who said constipation, which at the time I was and once I was more 'regular' again the passing of mucus went. Has anyone had this before as a result of a fissue? ive read a few stories where this has been a symptom. I have gone to my doctor btw, they are doing stool sample and bloods as I have a family history of Chrons so they want to test for that as this bloody mucus is a symptom, however I dont have any other symptoms - I dont feel ill, not lost weight, no diarrhoea or even using the bathroom any more or less than usual. anyway, just wondered if anyone else has had a similar issue. I have pretty horrific health anxiety so naturally ive diagnosed myself with cancer!!

    Hi Berry

i happened to see your post come up

however i dont seem to get mucus but what catched my eye is you say your flare ups can last for upto three weeks

ive had a anal fissure for one year and two months and normally in that time my flare ups wouldnt last no more than a few days up tol recently where i think a slighter harder stool opened up my fissure or presented another as there was blood when i wiped and since that day ive been in constant pain and discomfort for nearly three weeks and i couldnt understand why it was so bad for so long im still in pain and dread going bm everyday as soon as ive been even if soft im in agonising pain all day

im currently waiting to re see my consultant as i told to try diltazem cream and lidocaine fir three months before they go for surgery and as a result nearly two months in there has been no improvement

in regards to your mucus you dont think its infected?

    hope you get some answers
