Anyone had uterine fibroid embolisation and then fell pregnant?

Im 29 years old and had my first baby last November! At my 12 week scan I was told I had an 11 cm fibroid which I had no idea I had! By the end of my pregnancy it was measureing around 17cm! I had no issues during pregnancy or labor but since, I have suffered extremely heavy bleeding which I take tranexamic acid for! I have seen a gyn consultant and they suggested fibroid embolisation as an option for me instead of a hysterectomy because of my age and because I may want other children in future! Looking at info online, most of it says that fibroid embolisation is only recommended for people who don't want anymore children! Seems to be a bit of a grey area! Has anyone had any experience of this? X

Fibroids often shrink after the pregnancy and after that point maybe you could consider laparoscopic myomectomy, as it is a single fibroid, the surgeon will have suitable time to ensure that the sutures in the uterus are sufficient to carry future pregnancies without the risk of uterine rupture via vaginal delivery to which they might prefer a cesarean delivery. Alternatively you also have hormonal treatments such as the mirena coil which will aid with the heavy bleeding and act as a contraceptive for up to 5 years plus further medication such as ESYMA or Lupron injections to actually aid shrinking the fibroid.

Thanks for writing to me! My docs told me that my fibroid would have probably decreased in size by now if it was going to because I'm 6 months postpartum! I have an appointment next week to see consultant radiologist to discuss UAE! I have lots to think about because I would like the chance to have other children! I'll not be agreeing to anything until I'm 100% sure!

I didn't realise how common they were until I started reading up about them! Try not to worry, as I said my fibroid was 17cm and it was apparently blocking my cervix! I was booked in for an elective c section 3 weeks before my due date but ended up going into labor a week before c section! I managed to have my little girl naturally😊!
They were hopeful that my fibroid would shrink once my hormones went back to normal but it hasn't! I have no pain from it, it is just the monthly bleeding that is unbearable! Are you going to get anything done with your fibroids after you have your baby? Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy! Not long to go😊! X
