Anyone have Ablation done while taking anxiety medication?

Last June I had an unsuccessful ablation. Love being part of the 3% unsuccessful rate. The EP specialist thinks it was unsuccessful because I was one a benzo for anxiety. I am slowly weaning off them to have a 2nd ablation done. He will only do it if I am free of this medication.

With all of the hundreds of ablations that have been done I find it hard to believe that all of these people were not on any anxiety medication.

Appreciate your thoughts on this

My son had an unsuccessful ablation , he only was off his heart medication for under a week, symptoms have become more frequently since, and ATM bit unsure of what to do as medication side affects are not good either

      Hi Amanda,

Yes I too came off my betablockers a week prior to the ablation. I understand that needed to be done.

But this is different,  With all of the thousands of ablations that have been done, I just can not see that all these people who had successful ablations done that alot of them were not on any anxiety medications. You can not just come off them a week before.

My daughter had her ablation 10 months ago. She has had episodes ever since. TTT Tilt Table Test just validated that she still has SVT. The doctor has been telling her all along that it's just anxiety but never prescribed anxiety medication. It isn't true anxiety it's autotomic. Why take medicine.
