Are you on clonidine, honey bun?

It's usually used to lower blood pressure - I thought you had decided not to take anything for your high BP?

This is what I was given for anxiety when I was freaking at urgent care and didn't know what was going on. The doctor told me later when I could think stratght that it was widely used by psychiatrists for anxiety. And since I had stopped metoprolol, its other funtion was for high BP.

My BP shot up, not uncommon with anxiety, especially during a spike. I am reisistant to a lot of meds, so wasn't surprised when the clonidine did not one thing for my blood pressure. When doc suggested adding something else for BP, that's when i said no more.

I have been very happy with it for anxiety!! For the last month or so, I have been noting most prevelant anxiety symptoms, and realized yesterday that they are all the same with both anxiety and clonidine side effects. (This anxiety only floored me about two months ago.)

The effect that concerns me the most is bloated distended hard tummy, digestion acting up a bit, and loose stools....all day. Again, symptoms of both. Not the most common in either, I am  interested in input about these symptoms in both cases. I don't know how the doctor could tell which it is, so I am doing my Hercule thing and trying to use my little gray cells to figure it out.

It is 88 today and will be 98 by the end of the week.

This is unusal for southern England, and because Jim and I live in London, it feels worse. (Buildings everywhere and of course no air-con in Andy's House(s).

Do you know, once when he was moving tenants about (he'a ALWAYS moving tenants about) he tried to put us a a tiny room, no cooker, no freezer, and a single bed.

We declined. His next suggestion was that we move to Manchester - which is 350 miles from London. He offered us a three-bedroomed house with a very low rent.

We have never been there but we had heard of the area being a little unsalubrious.

And in any case, all the kids live in London, close to Andy's House,

He tried to persuade us with the immortal line " It's nearer Scotland than London is."

Jim and I want to retire to Scotland - if we get that far - I mean if he survives long enough to do so. There are plenty of very inexpensive cottages there for rent.

We'e going on a four day break to the south coast, in September.

We had lunch with the kids today - they're fine. The two younger ones have just returned from Florida Disneyland. Isobel and her pal, Vida, loved it. Jerry, who has finally left college, has plans to take an apprenticeship (God knows in what) and then try again to join the Navy, said his two friends, R and M, didn't want to see ANYTHING. R. made the booking and managed to get Isobel and Vida in a shared room, with two beds. Unfortunately, he also booked a room with TWO single beds for himself, Jerry and M. That caused some disputes, apparently. I can well-imagine it.

Anyway - that's all for now - I shall research clonidine tonight. Can you tell me ALL the meds you're taking? I've noticed that I've some how disabled PMs.

Alan will get another baffled message this evening. It's nowhere near bedtime, but I'm planning to go very soon.      love Tess.xxxxxxx

I'm surprised there is electricity in Andy's apartments. Thanks for the family news. I used to live in Orlando where Disney is. Never went. I had lived in Southern California...the whole area is Disneyland.

Meds for the last couple of months, only Clonidine.

I just went back to probiotics, colostrum (great for gut), and am having a few cups of chamomile a day...seeing some relief. Feet and ankles very swollen today. I sit here so long at a time, part of the swelling is due to that, I think. I am going to sofa now and prop feet and legs up.

      Love ya', girl !!
