Sounds like it could be a reaction and call your doctor.

I take only one every time I need antibiotics because if I don't the antibiotics which kills out all the good bacteria in the stomach and then I get yeast infections.

How owe is the yeast infection ? I also suggest eating a lot of sugarless yogurt helps balance the good bacteria.

    Take care

Hello Jojoann. I had a similar reaction, but no pain at all. My doctor could explain what it was. He was more concerned about an allergic reaction or problem with my liver, but that was not the case. I would love to know what your doctor said about the muscle weakness, pins and needles.

I've been taking Diflucan for more than fifteen days now. I'm facing a very severe candida infection. I have to take it for five more days, I don't know if I should have an other doctors opinion.

Hi Lydia.  Just looking at your post cos I think I've got a candida infection but as yet haven't had any treatment for it.  I have been feeling generally unwell since I had UTI few months ago.  Have done some research on this and it looks to me as if I might have an infection.  If you don't mind, can you give me some details of your symptoms and did you feel "unwell" ?Hope you don't mind me asking.  Lily x

Hi Lydia, yes my Dr felt that I had a reaction to the diflucan, he said that it can be a rough drug for many, especially being on for 2 weeks at a high dose. Basically he said that I had to tough it out as treating the infection was paramount over the side effects. They have mostly subsided but I still have weakness in my legs and some occasional pins and needles but he feels they are after effects of the infection and drug. How are you feeling? Was your infection also esophageal?

Hi Lily I had a candida infection in my esophagus brought on by too many oral and inhaled steroids I had to take over the last year. I had bad stomach pains, diarrhea, loss of appetite and generally felt weak, achey and low grade fever as it progressed. It was awful. They found it when I finally had my endoscopy. Have you seen a Dr yet?
