Anyone have success with a bone stimulator...trimalleolar fracture non union

Broke my ankle in 3 places mid March, ORIF end of March, was told bones had healed and had been full weight bearing for 5 weeks. I have been limping badly, tons of swelling and everyone says I am looking worse than better. I have shooting pains with almost every step but was thinking I could tough it out and the more I do the quicker I will recover. Went for a check up with the surgeon last week and he said there should be zero pain and no limping by now, ordered a CT Scan. Turns out the posterior malleolus is still broken and not healing, that part did not have pins or plate. Dr. has suggested a bone stimulator to try and avoid further surgery. Also take a step back on walking on it and no physio until further notice. I am concerned that I will not recover from this. Anyone else have a similar situation? Not sure if this should have been found with multiple xrays that were done previously, and wondering why no hardware was put onto that part of the fracture.

kaymac , walmart has a compression ankle brace that cost about $6-$9 . i wear the brace during weightlifting workout and running excercises. the brace helps with blood circulation to the ankle and also absorbs the impact and pounding away from the ankle , you might want to try it , it works great for me. broken ankle july 12 2017 , 3 places , 2 plates , 7 screws ankle 50yrs old . i thought i would forever have problems but none whatsoever

Good to know, thank you. Hopefully the bone stimulator works for me and I won't need more surgery, I think they should have put a plate on the break at the back of the ankle, but didnt for some reason, thats the part giving me trouble, hasnt healed at all, but they kept missing it in the xrays. I think surgeon was only looking at the parts where he put the hardware and overlooked the issue.

I will pick up a brace for sure, thanks for the advice!
