Anyone have trouble eating white wheat?

Have any of you had trouble with eating white wheat? I have IBS-C. It says it's okay on the low fodmap diet, but everytime I do I seem to get constipated. I had a really bad IBS attack 3 weeks ago. I decided to stay on the low fodmap diet. I started a new supplement called Heather's Tummy Fiber, drank more water and was doing better for two weeks. Then the last few days I've been allowing myself to eat some white wheat bread. Before this I was sticking to spelt bread. I will now stay with the spelt, but I wondered if any of you experienced this?

I'm just hoping I don't have another attack because of my not listening to myself and sticking with spelt instead of wheat.

Thanks for reading. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Has anyone tried sourdough bread? I've heard it can actuaally help with IBS.

I have tried sourdough bread and it is very nice but I don't notice it changing my IBS symptoms because food doesn't trigger my symptoms.  Stress does though.

I had sourdough a few days ago thinking it was okay since it was on the low fodmap. Then I had one bagel pizza on a white bagel for the next two days. I'm not sure, but I thought my trouble began with the white sourdough bread.

Other than that I ate spelt for breakfast.

Maybe I'm just over sensitive to white wheat of any kind?

I was originally told many years ago I had IBS.  Following advice from a nurse practitioner at the GP, I went totally gluten and wheat free for bread, cake, pastry and pasta.  I also make my own soups from veggies that I know don't upset me and stock.  It only takes 30 minutes for a big pot that makes 12 servings and I can freeze.  A subsequent colonoscopy and CT scan revealed Diverticular Disease, not IBS, but perhaps a GF diet trial might be worth trying.
