Anyone have vistiubular migraines that you were not aware of?

I've been really off balance and constantly feeling like I am moving, I have no headaches at all, but even in my sleep I feel this movement.
Did anyone ever feel this and then take nortriptiline and everything went away? I am desperate to figure out what's wrong with me. It's been about 4 months since I've felt normal. Anything would really help

Melissa, I might have commented on previous posts with you, but I thought I would give an update on my experience now with vestibular migraines. My present doctor doesn't think I ever had Meniere's. He has changed the diagnosis to vestibular migraines. So far I have tried verapamil but the side effects were too much even on the lowest dose so he had me stop after one week. Since then I have started the Migraine Relief Plan diet (book is available on Amazon), continue to do my vestibular exercises, take magnesium and B2, and track the symptoms to determine what my triggers are that make the symptoms worse. So far weather changes, allergies, motion intolerance, and certain foods are triggers for me. Over time doing all of these things has helped me a great deal and i'm making good progress toward stopping these awful symptoms. My bad times are less severe now and my good times are getting to be almost normal. I saw my doctor today and he and I agreed to hold off on trying anymore migraine prevention meds to see how much more progress just diet and the vestibular exercises do to end the symptoms. He will prescribe a different medication (probably venlafaxine ER) whenever I determine I need one, but I will go back to see him again in 8 weeks. I joined 2 groups on Facebook that you might find to be helpful. Just search for vestibular migraines on Facebook and you will find them. I've learned so much from the people in these groups as they share their experiences with vestibular migraines. I think you might find some answers there and also in other support groups that deal with vestibular problems. This will end and you will recover. We have to keep the faith right?

Hi! I remember us talking before and I even wrote to you a couple weeks ago to see if anything helped you. My doctors are still trying to figure out what's wrong with me. Im still imbalanced and feel like im always moving. So the exercises helped you a lot it seemed. I feel like I watch my diet and yet this still won't go away. Im so worried I have menieres or hydrops. I never get headaches, just this weird wavy feeling 24/7. And this weird sudden jolt in my head. It's torture and has been like this 4 months. You are on no medication now? And you didn't have headaches correct?

I'm sorry that I didn't see a message from you or I would have answered it. I do get headaches (sinus and top and back of the head) from time to time, but mostly I get head pressure that can be a little bit painful. No, i'm not on any meds now. I may try one in a month or two after I see how this Migraine diet and the exercises continue to be helpful. My hope is that I will not have to take prevention medication to stop the symptoms. But i'm willing to try one if I have to. Do you have Meniere's symptoms of low frequency hearing loss along with tinnitus, ear pressure, vertigo where the room spins? Sometimes it takes a while to get a definite diagnosis. All the vestibular tests seem to indicate that I don't have Meniere's (even though that's what i was told for so many years.) That's why my doctor is treating me for vestibular migraines. The tests and my symptoms seem to fit that diagnose better. I am experiencing improvement doing the stuff you need to do to stop the dizziness of vestibular migraines so that's a good thing. I know you will get a good diagnosis soon and be able to get the correct medication to help end all the suffering you're going through Melissa.
