Anyone know what causes alot of bleeding during vasectomy/sexual functioning became greatly reduced.

I had a vasectomy some years ago and there was alot of bleeding after he clamped and did the cut during the vasectomy. The bleeding lasted 10 to 15 minutes as the urologist kept on applying a solution that kind of burned in order to stop the bleeding. When he cut the vas of my other testicle there was no bleeding at all. Four days after vasectomy I sexually functioned and it absolutely wasn't the same as before vasectomy, the erection was weaker with a burning sensation when hard which indicated I was sexually worn out and I ejaculated much much quicker. Two urologists informed me i'm having too many ejaculations after the vasectomy and told me to reduce it which I already did at once every 4 days when before vasectomy I was functioning 2 to 4 times a week with no problem. There was no bleeding when I had a reversal which didn't return my sexual functioning to normal. WHY was there alot of bleeding when he did the first cut during vasectomy? Why did I become sexually worn out after vasectomy and reversal?

    Hello Domnic,

I'm sorry that both procedures went horribly wrong for you. We decided not to have a reversal done, fearing that things may get worse and also after reading literature saying that a reversal would not necessarily return erectile function. I knew straight after the operation that something was wrong, my husband lost his morning erections and his penis was no longer as hard during erections.  This situation as only got worse, now 14 years later, he is now almost impotent and drugs like viagra don't work for him.  I read an article in a natural health magazine only a few months after he had the vasectomy, correctly titled ' The cruelest cut of all! I think it was by Elaine Hollingsworth.  I cried for days!!! Recently, I found some information that selenium can help erectile function, the best form of it is in the Selsun shampoo and the suggestion was to apply it through the skin to absorb into the blood stream.  I am trying to convince my husband to try it.  Let you know if we get results.  One of my posts has the name of two books about vasectomy, both books explain the changes you experienced after having a vasectomy.  All the best. Patty.

Actually i had the cruelest cut vasectomy 19 years ago at 32, 4 years later reversal,  it seemed the reversal either made no difference or slightly improved it or even slightly reduced it further., im not sure. I was still sexually worn out at once every 4 days and it didnt return my functioning to before the vasectomy.  It seemed the bleeding during vasectomy only on the one side lasted for 10 minutes but if im incorrect i do know when he first cut it he said theres alot of bleeding and he has to causterise it and apply a liquid, it didnt stop the bleeding and he kept on doing all that over and over again until it completely stopped, if that didnt last 10 minutes then it must of been at least 5 or 6 minutes, my question is IS THAT NORAMAL FOR A VAS TO BLEED THAT LONG AFTER APPLYING THE CAUTERISATION METHOD CONTINUOUSLY, shouldnt the bleedinhave stoppedright away after causterising the first time?  or is that an indication that the doctor cut somethinmg more vital like a nerver or blood vessal nearby the vas wether itbwas accidental or in then extreme rare occasion purposely. About erection problems I found though watching porn for a good 20 to 60 minutes WITHOUT an erection at alll will get the penis aroused then ready if anyone would ever want to try that, I do when I dont see my female aquaintance..
