Anyone NOT had any side effects on Citalopram?

Hi there,
After much deliberation, talking to just about anyone I could find and generally scouring the internet for information, I have decided to go with the Docs advice and take Citalopram, starting today. And then I found this site....
Has anyone NOT had any side effects on this? It is making me feel very worried about taking it. Am I just going to have to sit tight and presume the worst? Are there people who take it and dont feel nauseous and tired or even worse to begin with?
I would really appreciate any comments.
Thanks
M

i am week 8 or so (you do stop counting when it all settles down). Had to jump to 20mg two weeks ago as my anxiety crept back and I started to lose sleep. Have taken to it fine despite being worried about yet more side effects.
to the newbies...stay strong and keep going as the cit usually does the trick..
hope everyone is doing well and feeling like you are making progress.
i am doing EMDR which is a therapy for post traumatic stress disorder....think it's helping but it's emotionally draining and makes me feel poo after.
however, I am now doing a 100km charity ride for breast cancer in 3 weeks which is thru the night...I did not think I would be able to do it just two weeks ago. Feel fab that I can do it
take ken care all xx be kind to yourselves x

When is it you take your CIT?? morning or evening?
Iv always taken mine first thing in the morning before my work and i have never had any problems sleeping if anything iv never slept better but
Everyone suffers from different side effects as you will see in previous posts and is commom for people on CIT to haven broklen sleep. Dont let this put you off taking your medication as you made a big step by going to you GP and CIT will help you
i am on my 7th week and still have minor blips which is normal but thats why we are all on this forum and everyone is here to support you.
hope your ok

With CIT there are a few different side effects, mine havent been to bad iv had the odd day of feeling 'spaced out' (better than anxious) and others were iv felt tired, low, very dry mouth but nothing i couldnt cope with. If you have felt like this for a while a few more weeks wont hurt and you'll feel fabby in no time. You will also have days were you feel great!
Iv had anxiety for 7/8years so i know exactly how you feeling, deep breathing helps esp when you in your bed. If you cant sleep take a deep breath in through your nose and a big deep breath out your mouth this helps you to relax. If you ever feel like your having an 'off' day come on here it helped me alot.
Chin up simon

For one I felt like I was on something constantly, like a really crap legal high or something. Also, when I had sex I couldn't stand to attention and when I did the train didn't leave the station.
Awful.

Gave it a week but if I can't get my rocks off thats depressing in itself.
Plus as I said I felt like I was on some crap MDMA or something, very unpleasant. Probably the best (but still rubbish) I've been on was Fluoxetine (Prozac), it didn't make me put on weight but didn't help. Venlafaxine gave me more energy but had sexual problems and exacerbated my social anxiety, which is weird because it's supposed to help it.
I'm trying to get hold of Bupropion, a dopamine reuptake inhibitor but its unlikely. Thinking of giving St John's Wort a go, its a Dopamine/Serotonin reuptake inhibitor.
The only other thing I've found to help mood is exercise, both because it gets your endorphins going and it improves your appearance/fitness.
I put on some 90's rap and go for a jog, bit of punch bag. Get all pumped up, it's pretty good!
