It's especially bad right know as I take care of her finances. I wish I could help. I've heard that meditation is good, I just can't concentrate long enough to get it too help.

hi Zen....I'm a champion worrier! it's kinda the "joke" in my family....except it doesn't feel like a joke at all!
I've been this way since I was a little girl, and I have NO idea where it came from!
I remember when I was about 4-5yrs old, I had a nightmare that both my legs were amputated due to cancer!
No one in our family even HAD cancer and I sure don't know how I would have even thought of that at !such a young age!
Anyway, my point is, maybe some of us are just born "worriers".
Go figure....sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself and let it pass. it's not always easy...but it's a whole lot easier to live like that!
Take care.....(and stop worrying!)

As a kid I remember a night worrying about if I fell asleep my heart would stop. I tried to stay awake as long as I could.
My mom was a chronic worrier, maybe it's hereditary?

maybe....now that you mention it, my mom worried about Everything too!! She was such a loving, wonderful mom, but boy did she worry!.....so, maybe it is hereditary!?
I just found out I have a nodule on my thyroid needs to be checked out, and needless to say, I'm worried about that! (can you believe that??😋)
I'm also in the middle of having some heart tests taken as I'm on oxygen 24/7 cuz I've got such shortness of breath.......but what? Me worry? LOL 😁

I certainly hope your health problems get favorably resolved!
My mom also was a nervous person and I'm finding I get more nervous as I get older. All of my maternal female relatives are/were like that. Never mind that they were all hypochondriacs, which they also blessed me with. I remember the time my grandmother took me into the bathroom to show me her poop and asked if it looked unusual! They would often get together to show off their scars and other things to each other. And now my latest heredity gift is IBS! Yes, I've joined the "Metamusil Club"!
I just love heredity (NOT).

I am. I have OCD and extreme, excessive, disabling fatigue. The key to making them go away, I believe, is to simply let the thoughts be there and don't try to fight or mess with them. That's how I cope.

keep in mind that you’re worrisome thoughts are not based on fact or reality. They happen when we are anxious usually. When I get one I basically just say to myself cancel or delete and think about something else right away. If you let them continue they will just control your thoughts and you will be miserable.
I have found a lot of great meditations on YouTube for anxiety, overthinking etc. I like one called detachment from overthinking. But you have to work at it on a daily basis. If you get upset when you get a negative thought, they will just get worse. I basically ignore them or do something else right away. i’ve been able to control them better this way.
r remember that worrying does not solve any problem it just makes you feel horrible. Worry is fear about the future which nobody can predict. Try your best to enjoy your life because we cannot get back any day that we waste with worry and fear.

Zen, I am a constant worrier. I can't remember when I was not. I worry about everything. My health, being alone, money, going somewhere by myself. My list could go on ad on. I wasn't always like this. It's frightening. So I hide. Wish there was a pill that would make the worry go away.
