Anyone on mirtazapine and venlafaxine combination?

I'm taking this combination with olanzapine. Nothing is working yet. I've been taking mirt for a few weeks and venlafaxine for a week.

Hi Kat, yes Mirt 30mg evening and Ven 150mg prolonged release in the morning. I have found this to be a potent combo. It was not the first thought and I had to suffer through quite a while to get them. Mirt seems to work quickest, I started to get some relief for anxiety and no sleep in a bout a week. The Ven was to replace fluoxetine which had died-a-death. It takes longer to work. The combo needs to be watched a bit closer as it can cause serotonin syndrome. I have had not problems other than grumbly tum and increased appetite. I hope it works for you, David .

Hi David, I know this is a long time after the original post but I wondered how you got on with is combination and how long it was before it worked for your depression?  Kind regards, Genevieve

I think you will get your appetite back, it sure did help mine. In a few weeks you'll be thinking how did that happen confused. With any luck your anxiety levels will be down and things will be a bit easier for you. In case no one told you, please don't to drink alcohol while taking these meds. Big risk of feeling really poorly afterwards. Just what you don't need if you are depressed and anxious. Are you on 30mg Mirt? Some try 15mg and it may not be enough, something to chat about with doc.

I don't really drink alcohol and I wouldn't drink while on these tablets. I'm on 45mg mirt and 150mg venlafaxine.
