My best friend is on it and it works well for her. I tried it after weaning Celexa (in a deep dip of depression) and it made me feel worse. I also have chronic fatigue and it made my fatigue worse. It made me feel paralyzed and trapped in my own negative thoughts - so not good! Stopped after a few days and went back to Citalopram, which has some side effects, but less than most for me.

So, I guess the lesson is that everyone's different. Sometimes you can only try meds to see how they react with you. It's hard because it takes a while to kick in. I contacted my doctor when I had the bad side effects. Be sure to take care of yourself and keep in touch with your health care team.

I hope it works for you, like it did for my friend.

The only side effect I have on Celexa is insominia.I would love not to have to take any of these prescription drugs.Hoping I can gradually get off both of them.Thank you again for your reply.

my advice would be to try changing the time you take your celexa or a sleeping med on top adding another antidepressant isn't great if the 30mg is working for you.

I added remeron to my citalopram over a year ago and I'm still trying to pull myself out of a deep depression it caused me and my anxiety has been the worst it's been. I have changed meds a few times trying to get things right so i know that is causing a lot of it too but I wouldn't he in this mess if my gp didn't add Remeron because I was having a hard time sleeping.

everyone is different so it might work for you but if you feel like you've hit rock bottom early days let your gp know Asap x

Thank you for your advice.I think I will start my Celexa in the morning and not at bed time.I am not sure if I want to stay on the Remeron due to the side effects of weight gain and a bit lathargic in the morning. The other antidepressants caused me to have breathing problems.I know all antidepressants have side effects....I think I just feel fear from the nasty side effects from several other he prescribed.I think I need to decide if angziety and depression is worse than the side effects from Remeron.....This disease can be so overwheming sometimes.Did the Remeron help you or make things worse for you.Xx Best wishes.
