Anyone stop using sertraline after feeling better?

Looking for anyone that was on sertraline and come off it after they was better without any problems. I’m just wondering if this is something I’ll be stuck taking the rest of my life. I don’t wanna be on it long term and just looking for reassurance that I can come off of it when ready

Wow you sound a lot like me, I waited forever to even take this stuff. I will tell you this I had to change my train of thought and think that if it is something I have to be stuck on forever as long as it's working and keeping me happier and more even then it's worth it. Kind of like a diabetes medicine

Just make sure to do some research about tapering off. Most doctors think we can taper faster than our brains can actually handle. It really needs to be a slow process and don't get in a hurry with it. You have to let your brain get used to not having the drug anymore. Not everyone has a difficult time with it. Just wanted you to be prepared that sometimes you may feel worse before you feel better. Hope it goes well for you. Glad you are feeling better

Dawn that is very encouraging. I am 6 weeks and 1 day today I am hoping that in the next two weeks or better. Well I do feel better overall I'm still panicking driving and that's the most important reason for me taking this. I'm 40 and I feel the same way I am so angry that I even need to take something and fought it for so long. But I hear the longer you fight it the harder it is... I will keep you posted keep posting on this. And let us know how you're all doing it's really encouraging for me
