Anyone suffering from bad acid reflux since going through menopause? Is it common?

Ive been suffering from quite bad reflux/lpr for around four months. Am on PPIs which do help. Dont like the thought of being on them long term. Anyone else had this health issue and could it be hormone related? I am 49 and menopausal.

Thanks for reply. i have just started on oestrogen gel. Ive heard hormonal inbalance can be the culprit. Am hoping gel helps but have also read that HRT can make it worse! I wondered if digestive enzymes can help?
