Anyone suffering with terrible piles

Anyone suffering with piles since being in perimenopause? Ive suffered with piles since having my 2 children 18 years ago but they only lasted a few days and then went away for months. Since being in perimenopause they just dont seem to be going away. Just wondered if it is another perimenopause sympton and related to hormone fluctuations.

omg! I literally just put a post out yesterday about piles.

I've been suffering since last year! I've got them back. This time it's bleeding and when I pass it hurts like glass!

I've got a steroid from the Drs going to try that as ansol isn't doing anything.

Last year it was swollen and was painful and had to soak it for 2 weeks couldn't sit down

how do you cope with bleeding?

I've been going through perimenopause for over 3 years now 😪

I suffer from bowel issues and I was taking a detox supplement which was making me regular which has led to piles now

Its horrible isnt it. Mine are external so thankfully don't bleed just really painful and are constantly there . Haven't worked out what makes them flare up but thinking it might be hormonal. Guess its just another delight of this perimenopausal journey. Hope the steroid cream works for you, think I may have to go down that root too.

yes mines is external. but I think I've got a tear!

Last year it was painful that I couldn't sit down!

what are you doing to manage it?

Just been using over the counter creams which aren't really doing much. Hope you have some success with the steroid creams.

definitely go to the Drs as I was in pain everytime I had a bowel movement. You only use it for 5-7 days as over the counter stuff doesn't work.

I also bathe in Epsom salt for 20mins. Then apply the cream it clears them up and shrinks them. Try that too

No I get more like pressure and soreness after a bowel movement . I think the broken glass feeling is more likely to be an anal tear. Have you been seen by a doctor as I think an anal tear treatment is different to piles.

yes got cream and today no pain thank god! its an anal tear and piles altogether! So annoying

Yessss. Been having lots of bowel issues. Seen a specialist yesterday after bleeding more and he said I have a small internal pile. He said I should have a colonoscopy which I have been avoiding.

Also the pain in my tailbone which has gotten better but after bleeding again it hurts in that area.

It seems to get a little better and then flare up again. This has gone on for so long now that it is stressing me so much. I have also been constipated which I never had before . Just wish it could just all go away.

hi me too. I've got my piles again! external bleeding and feels like a razor sharp pain when bowel moves! I had piles last year for 2 weeks and they've returned.

DR has given me cream now as over the counter stuff not working.

Once you get colonscopy done it will be peace of mind.

I've asked my Dr to refer me too but said it will be declined most probably as had endoscopy and bowel cancer test all clear.

what are you using for your piles? do you get razor sharp pain when poo comes out?

Hi, yes I get that awful pain and dread going for a movement . I was given proctosedyl suppositories and it did work the first time I used them but they flare again and it isn't doing much now.

I also did the fecal test and all was ok and blood work ok but I was stressing so bad that the dr said he will refer me for a colonoscopy. Had gone to the hospital who also said they will do it.

I am so scared of doing this scope incase they find something. Also don't really want to do this prep stuff.

I think it is just making my anxiety worse. I think you are right though and should just get it done and be over with it. because I really am not doing well with all this anxiety.

I literally just want to be sleeping due to all the stress and worry all this stuff is causing me.

Wish it would all just stop.

I have had this pain on and off for over 6mnths ..

This all started for my with tailbone pain that came and went and I think it was from sitting on a hard surface. Eventually this pain got so bad that I could not sit down at all and the pain got so bad. After that I started to become constipated and then I believe that's when the pile flared up and I had inflammation. The suppositories helped at the start but then stopped working. I also feel like something is inside .

I have had ibs-d so the constipation worried me. Now this fullness like something is inside is there and it gets a little better and then comes back. I had to strain few days ago and the pain was intense and after that I had more blood than the usual spot or streak so called my dr and she got the specialist to see me the next day. He confirmed a small pile.

Thanks for making me feel better about the colonoscopy. I think I will just go ahead and do it.

My body has gone nuts since going off the contraceptive pill. That i believe helped with many symptoms and since then I have had so many problems.

Hopefully it settles. I really am thinking of asking to go back on the pill.

Hope you have a nice weekend .
