Anyone take GNRH Analouges prior to hysterectomy for kidney pressure (hydronephrosis)

Hi all. I'm 44 with multiple fibroids ranging from 1.5 - 8cm. Most recent scan showed 13. My uterus is so big (18 week pregnancy) my kidneys are swollen so uterus has to come out. They're starting me on gnrh monthly injections next week and looking to operate in 2 - 3 months. Has anyone had these injections? Can you remember the name of the one you took and how much shirkage there was? Feeling very scared about the surgery.
