Hey everyone

I was suffering with the worst of the worst anxiety

(Chest pain,Painfull palpitations,Racing heart,Vertigo,Nausea,Brain fog,Numbness,Tingling,Derealization,Severe muscle tension, loss of breath) I've tried so many medications with my doctors and all were a disaster.. Some sent me to a hospital because of side effects. And one made me gain over 100 pounds in just a couple of months.

So I gave up on medicine and used Diet and exercise. Started Eating Whole Foods and using magnesium,B complex,L Theanine,Ashwaghanda,Green juice powder,Fish oil,Multivitamin,Chlorella and I've improved significantly. I'm no longer agrophobic no more and I can function way better and all I really suffer from now is muscle tension in my head, upper body and legs on top of racing heart. I heard pool exercises can help with muscle tension because of 0 gravity.

I was curious if anyone has had any success with acupuncture or Chinese herbs/medicine or a naturopath? I know their has to be something that worked before anxiety medicine was created. I see a lot of good things about Chinese medicine for anxiety through herbs.. but I was wondering what were any of your experiences?

I want so terribly to only take herbal remedies, because I am so hypersensitive to EVERYTHING. I take magnesium, niacin, and Im going to try Ashwaganda as well. I also found anoxicalm its from a health food store, it works wonderfully when Im in full panic mode. Im definitely following this post!

Half an inch of raw ginger a day. Dip in honey if its too bitter. Nibble it down. Celery juice about 6-8 stalks juiced a day. Fresh holy basil finely chopped a half a cup day. Not chinese remedy but very very helpful to calm the body and heal it of viruses and such. There is a theory all this anxiety is being instigated by heavy metals in your body to which hawaiian spirulina is great, way better then cholera which is incompetent with it. Takes a year to cleanse it from the body. L theanine serene is good at night as long you dont use other meds. Melatonin 3mg dissolvable for a few nights knock you out and reregulates sleep patterns. Theres so much in the alternative world.

Ashwaghanda is great. Just make sure you do your research on it and get the dosage right otherwise you won't see the difference. Magnesium helped me big time with stopping chest pain from anxiety and muscle tension and racing heart. B complex is a must.

Ever since I've had anxiety my BP has spiked randomly. They say it's stress.. I've gotten it down to the 120-130s / 80-lower 90s with exercise and garlic/ashwaghanda and diet but I will definatly try that out. I'm really looking into just trying the Chinese medicine herbs as I've really heard good things about it.

Did you see a Chinese acupuncturist / doctor? I'm wondering how the Chinese medicine worked. Also how did the acupuncture help? Just temporarily? I'm hoping it will stop the muscle tension.

I have found valerian root to be helpful.

What sort of adverse effect? One thing I notice is that there seems to be an optimal dose for me, usually 2 or 3 capsules at bedtime. If I take more than that, I had the impression that it did not work, which is odd. But I didn't perceive it as making the anxiety worse, unless I just didn't realize it.

Strangely, when I've tried them, melatonin put me in a bad mood the next day, and gingko seemed to make me depressed.

I just got back from my first acupuncture session.. we talked he put the needles in. I was able to take it for maybe 3 minutes. I was relaxed but somehow felt a little panick coming on. As he was taking needles out I started to cry like a baby. It was like everything I was holding in came out. Apparently this is normal and is a good thing. This is what it's supose to do I guess.
