Anyone using supplements instead of anti depressants?

I've been going through the internet at light speed to find something to replace and be more natural for anxiety. Just wondering if anyone has used dietary supplements?

Ashwagandha is very helpful for stress and 5-HTP is good for mood stabilizer and creating more serotonin! I also like to just take Vitamin C, Fish oil, Zinc and other vitamins so I feel like I'm staying healthy since my anxiety is based off my health fears.

Thanks for the response. If you don't mind, how do you take the supplements? Certain time of day? At the same time? I'm a newbie on this stuff. I would really like a more natural way to handle my anxiety.

I just looked the supplements up. Unfortunately my dr. doesn't have anything to say about supplements. His response is "I don't know anything about them and I wasn't trained for that". Standard response to all my questions! The 5-HTP sounds serious. Did you consult with your dr?

5-HTP is a supplement found in any store, my doctor said it's fine to take you just don't take it everyday for a long time like regular vitamins. As for the other vitamins I take them every morning after breakfast!

Inositol and choline bitartrate may be worth looking into for you, however its expensive and may cause a slightly upset stomach for the the amount required to help with anxiety.
