Anyone with anxiety experience a choking sensation and tightness in throat like constantly and when swallowing fluids it sticks a little and then go down. I travel with anxiety and get faint feeling as well. I have had a CT scan for my brain, and also had an ENT scope and my throat was normal a year ago.

Ya Tom - about 20 years ago I was having a lot of swallowing troubles - like I can remember doing a little dance jig to take my mind off swallowing so I could get something down - people around me noticed - good for a laugh when I told them I had been choking - but one day I mentioned this to a woman I had known for awhile and she was aware of the troubles I was going through with life - some bad emotional stuff had come my way - and she simply said "You can't swallow anymore of it." Meaning the bad stuff coming my way. Now I know that seems pretty simple and basic but it made me aware that she was right I was really tired of the emotional crap coming my way --- and I guess it manifested in swallowing.

You know you can get something that is chewy and start chewing on it and say to yourself I am not going to swallow this - I am just going to chew it - and after awhile your body will take over and you will be swallowing it in a natural way - muscle memory - just chew on stuff and don't think about swallowing it - like when you eating just say your going to chew it - with no more than that. you can always spit it out at anytime . also keep a glass of water near you - anything will go down with a large chug of water - sometimes even now I have moments where something don't go down right and I will just relax and not panic and get some water and drink it clearing the throat. take care Tom
