Anyone with DIV? Why my skin is wrinkled? (Pics)

Posted , 7 users are following.

I got DIV (desquamative inflammatory vaginitis) due to a bad sex practice, and I'm under treatment, but my skin is getting wrinkled and weird. It doesn't hurt or itch, but it is changing a lot and I'm worried. I cannot find this symptoms anywhere!!

Perianal skin is also getting weird. The doctor didn't saw anything strange, but I know my body and this is NOT normal.

Help please!

Our body changes over time and years, but it is super normal for lips to be puckered...

I don't see anything wrong with your lip, just the appearance of a lip like any other!

Thanks for replying, I'm concerned because these changes happened within a couple weeks, and for being 30y/o I feel it's weird that the appearance changed so fast, so I thought the DIV might had something to do 😦

Same here. It was swollen and irritated for 2 years with burning white discharge and then the last third year it got all textured, flabby and shriveled. Something is definitely wrong. Recently diagnosed with DIV too. Please reply with any new info you have. Thank you!

Wow two years...I'm sorry to hear, I hope you have a treatment going on. I'm with clindamycin for couple of months, but definitely gonna insist on the skin issues on my next appointment, it's in October but any new info I'll let you know. Let me know if you find out something too please

Hi! I am doing the 2% clindamycin, 10% hydrocortisone .01 estrogen compounded cream. I've only done it for two night because i hate the cream mess. But I will have to continue to see if it works. What do you mean by bad sex practice? 😃 That may give us some insight into what caused it?

Yes apparently takes a long time to treat it. In my case I got it from anal sex, I feel stupid cause I totally knew it was not a good idea but it's a long story.. anyway the problem is the same, and it has totally changed my life quality, but I'm glad that I found this platform because I was feeling very helpless.

Okay but that's good that you now what caused it. Most people don't. So basically its an aerobic bacterial infection. Did any specific bacteria come up on your tests? My test came up with E. Coli and Atopobium Vaginae. Among other things. Did you have white pasty discharge or the yellow one they speak of? I have white pasty discharge, so I wasn't sure if this is what I had. But all other symptoms are spot on. I also have my own microscope to do wet preps at home. Tons of white blood cells and epithelial cells shedding off.

That's true, I have the white thick discharge and the burning feeling, also the wrinkled skin which I couldn't find any info. No yellowish or other symptoms as I read on the internet, but if you found those bacterias and the blood cells it's very likely desquamative. The doctor didn't told me which kind of bacteria I had, but I thought to ask him next time. He didn't prescribe me hydrocortisone or estrogen, just clindamycin and fluconazol once a week to prevent yeast infection.

I'm also taking by myself vitamin D and avoiding sugar and flours, it's not gonna fix anything but I think it helps.

Do you have any clue where you got it from?

Oh that's interesting. Yes, i think i was touched with dirty hands initially. Like spread some germs here to there. Something was kind of off after that for about 3 months. But nothing really bad. Just a little smell. But I figured a few period cycles would make everything go back to normal. But then I had a very stressful event, and about a week after, I had the onset of all the symptoms. White discharge, burning, rawness, redness, irritation, swelling and burning with urination. Over time, the skin became like you mentioned. Like textured and now lost elasticity, smoothness and plumpness . You can private message me if you want.
