Anyone with health anxiety got better with Xanax and Escitalopram(Lexapro)???

I got prescribed Lexapro (escitalopram) 10 mg in the morning and Xanax 0.5mg 3 times a day...

I suffer from bad health anxiety( heart palpitations,dizziness and 100 other symptoms),panic attacks, and general anxiety disorder...

Anyone used this medications and felt better with panic attacks and health anxiety and general anxiety disorders??? I will start with this medications today.... I would like to know if anyone had some positive experiences with this medications...

    I have had those medications and it did take the edge off of my anxiety. However the Lexapro like any other anti-depressant medication can take up to six weeks for the full effects and sometimes a little longer. So you have to hang in there for a while. The Xanax will give you immediate relief however taking .5 mg three times a day is very likely to make you sleepy. I can’t even take .5 mg once without getting sleepy . you might be OK if you have a high tolerance for medications which I don’t. Let your doctor know if it’s too much. Also, do not drive when you are taking Xanax because of that sleepy effect. I know of someone who almost drove off the road.

    sometimes people need to try different antidepressants if one is not working so be sure to let your doctor know after that six weeks if you don’t feel any better.

    everyone reacts differently to medication. The whole process is basically trial and error. Hope you feel better soon

      Thank you for your reply Jan... I took first Xanax 3 hours ago and yes it did make me very sleepy and i feel slowed down and little bit mentally confused and everything is sluggish around me... Like my body is slowed down for 40%.... And i feel maybe 20% to 30% relief..... I was anxious 10/10 now im around 6 or 7/10....Tomorrow i will start with Lexapro... How long did you use Xanax? Im scared of stories that i read on some posts here that it has very bad withdrawals...

      I used Diazepam ( Valium ) a lot last few years and its the similar effect... But i feel a little bit more like drunk feeling and sluggish with Xanax.... But my doctor told me that Diazepam is not for treating panic attacks.... And Xanax is good for that.

      you do have to be careful with Xanax because it can be addicting. I never had that problem because when I took it I only took about a quarter of the tablet and I didn’t take it every day. Taking a quarter of the tablet for me was all I needed to take the edge off of my anxiety. So I’ve been OK doing that only when necessary.

      I do know of someone who had to take it daily after having a mastectomy because of all the stress and anxiety that caused. She had to take it for maybe a couple years or more I’m not sure exactly how long however she did have memory issues from that that are slowly resolving now. i’m not a big fan of Xanax for that reason but sometimes it may be needed for a short time.

    I take klonepin longer life. xanax makes me sleepy . Evryone is different . Im allergic to escitalopram nothing major but doesnt agree . I have heard lots of postives from lexapro.
