Anything I can do to reduce venlafaxine withdrawal effects?

Posted , 4 users are following.

My pharmacy messed up ordering my prescription so I've gone two days without taking my venlafaxine and won't get my prescription until tomorrow lunchtime.  I'm feeling quite ill and dizzy.  Is there anything I can do to reduce the effects?

I have another SSRI which I was given for headaches (so I know its safe to take with my other meds) - would it help to take a dose of that?

    Hi there

I've recently come Ven all together but withdrawal is a bitch, I was advised to take Omega 3 / Multi vit with B12 Vit C. Also painkillers and it's worked wonders.

    Thanks

    Hi

If you are just waiting for the prescription than there's not a lot you can do to make you feel better in a day or so. But if you're planning on staying off it then take lots of Omega 3, 5HTP , st johns wart and vits. I stopped cold turkey 12 days ago after being on 225my for 6 years. I'm still getting withdrawal symptoms and the first 7 days were pure hell, but it's getting easier now.

If you are only waiting till tomorrow to resume then take the SSRI and you should feel better in an hour or so.

    Good luck

    Hi

Your pharmacy should give you enough tablets until your prescription is ready. You cannot just stop veneflaxine. It's a very long and slow process to come off them permanently. This happened to me once then I found out that the pharmacist can give you enough until prescription is ready. They will then deduct the number of tablets you've borrowed from your box. Hope this helps. 🤗🤗🤗
